Well….after hearing the repubs lie and lie about the supposed “death panels” that they just knew was a part of the ACA, I find it ironic and a little bit sick that the repub governors who have refused the medicaid expansion are actually causing people to die without this needed healthcare. A new study done by Harvard about the effects of these asses and their refusal estimate that from 7-14,000 people will die per year as a direct result of the repub governors trying to score political points…even at the low point, isn’t it just wrong that these guys accept the killing of 7,000 US citizens just so they can go to their extreme right wing donors and get money since these deaths are what people like the Koch’s want? They just don’t give a damn about anyone but the rich and playing the political game…shame on them…what a bunch of immoral asses…geez…

We don’t need no stinkin’ equal wages…
Well….just getting ready to go out and shoot pool but thought I’d get this short one done before since I know I won’t do it when I get back…I am still amazed that any woman still votes for the idiot repubs, with them taking away their right to control their own bodies and now it being revealed they just don’t give a damn about equal wages, either. Just today we had many repubs come out and comment on the various fair pay acts that have been blocked by the repubs both on a federal level, and in many states…saying that they are not necessary and “let the market fix the problem..if there is a problem”…I wonder where the hell these guys have been for the past 50 years? Isn’t that long enough to let the market try to correct the fact that women make 60-70 cents on the dollar compared to men who do the same jobs? This is an issue that needs legislative remedy since the market has proven that it won’t address this problem…and women need to do their part by not voting repub anymore…geez….
Snyder piles on…
Well…after ole Schuette wasted money and time this week appealing the equality ruling and joining the fight against ACA subsidies, we now have ole Snyder piling on the few same sex couples who got married over the weekend by instructing all state agencies to not recognize these legal marriages,…as I’ve said before, the repubs rail and rail and rail about Obama “picking and choosing” which laws to enforce, then do exactly the same thing to discriminate…at least Obama does it to enlarge rights and fight for the middle class…these idiots do nothing but try to keep their enemies down by denying them rights that everyone should have….what a bunch of crap….geez….
Schuette just hates the people of Michigan..
Well…with today’s revelation of our AG’s suit against subsidies for people getting healthcare in the state, we can see that Bill Schuette just hates the people of Michigan…going so far as to take affordable insurance away from residents just to prove that he hates Obamacare and any program that helps people who need it. Where the hell were you before Obamacare passed, Bill? Not a peep out of you for people whose insurance was canceled, not a peep for people with pre-existing conditions that couldn’t get insurance, not a peep for people who couldn’t afford insurance….but, you roar like a lion against the basic help the the ACA provides to people who need it…just like the appeal of the equality ruling, and conspiring with the extremists at Right to Life of Michigan to take away womens access to their healthcare, ole Bill just hates the people of Michigan and solving any of their problems…just make sure they are held down and don’t have the avenue to financial security or equality….this is your repub party, hate, hate, hate…geez….
Now corporations have religion, too?
Well…I am amazed at the new case that comes before the supreme court today where a for profit corporation is suing to not have to have their insurance carrier cover birth control….and, they are suing on religious grounds, as if a corporation goes to church and prays…yeah, not making this one up. You only have to think what the ramification of a win for these asses would mean…then, the corporation would own you even more than they do now and could intrude on you life for religious grounds even if you’re an atheist…don’t go to church? Fired. Married to a black woman? Fired. Muslim? Fired. You can see where I’m going here…if these people prevail, the rights of all Americans will be decimated and the religious asses that try to control their employees lives outside work will have complete control…just what the righties want…geez….
Typical howl from the right…
Well…it has been funny to hear the howl coming from the right here in Michigan…was actually looking out the door to see if I could see or hear any heads exploding…on the ruling on equality that was handed down Friday afternoon in favor of everyone having the same rights. The cries were the same ones that you always hear when the repub sponsored bigotry is found to be unconstitutional…damn activist, liberal judge! But, the only problem with that is that this guy was appointed by Reagan…so that makes him a liberal? I am so tired of the repubs loving government when they can use it to discriminate, but when the result is to increase equality and freedom, they just howl like crazy….and one other funny thing is that in every state where these types of cases have come to the court, every judge has come down on the side of the 14th amendment and equal protection…so now all judges are activist liberals? Get over it haters…get over the fact that this country is changing toward equality and tolerance for all, not just the people you agree with…geez…
Oh, on last thing… Schuette, stop spending my tax money to defend discrimination with the appeal…especially since you have no case…
Equality marches on…
Well…just a short one on the cool developments here in Michigan where a federal judge just struck down the discrimination that was enshrined in the constitution when the marriage inequality act was passed in 2004. I really like what the judge did with the supposed “experts” that the state of Michigan called in to support continuation of inequality, basically calling them lying hacks who had nothing to add to the case….but, the best part is that the judge used the 14th amendment to the constitution and it’s equal protection clause to say that everyone has to be treated equally…you don’t get to discriminate just because you have the votes to do it…I do feel bad that the appeals court has stepped in an stayed the ruling until next week but it won’t last forever and everyone in the state will be equal when it happens…yay…
Something on the Ukraine…
Well….still not feeling all that great but had a couple of thoughts that I wanted to get down on the Ukraine situation…I wonder where people get the idea that anything can be done? Especially by us…do the hawks here think we are going to attack Russia? And, the thing is that Putin knows it…not only because they have a real army with real tanks and attack helicopters and fighter jets…something that Afghanistan didn’t have and we are still there 13 years later and still haven’t won. Plus, you just need to look at the supply lines if you are going to consider a real shooting war…Russia has 20 divisions within a day of the Ukraine…it would take the US 6 months to get ready for any sustained attack…yeah, we could maybe lob a few cruise missles at them but all that would do would be to piss them off…so, where does that leave us? In the reality based world, it means doing just what we are doing…talking to the UN and other organizations that can levee economic sanctions to make them hurt some…like the new suggestion that Russia be expelled form the G8, making getting loans almost impossible to get and forcing them to basically go on a cash basis….will that work? Who knows? But it is better than a shooting war…geez…
Another day…
Well…I was going to update my day since I can’t find anything that gets the old outrage flowing today…I did get a 5 mile bike ride in and I feel so decrepit with the lungs on fire and soreness everywhere…oh, well…one thing that has made me smile a little is that the Koch’s have pulled their lying ACA ads from the air across the US…it looks like the Kochroaches don’t really do too well when exposed to the sunlight of the media and truth….maybe things are finally turning..I think their brand is being tarnished by the lies, lies, and more lies they have been putting out…it’s okay for their base since they are used to being lied to and eat that crap up, but the rest of the country is starting to get tired of it…especially since over half of the political ads run so far this year…something like 30,000 of them have been against the ACA…even though people are starting to like the law…hope it continues and the Kochs just go away…wouldn’t it be nice if they’d use the money to feed the hungry or house the homeless…430 million would have done a lot of good…geez…
Still not feeling well…
Well…still not feeling well today and I’m not sure if I did it to myself or not….don’t think so…but, I still do have to come back to do another one today no matter how I feel….I did just get the chance to go out and read Nate Silver’s new website Fivethirtyeight.com and it could become a place for some news that is as objective as it comes since he is a numbers guy and just wants to report the facts, not opinion…well…there may be some opinion but it will be labeled as such so you can tell….the repubs shot themselves in the foot, again, over the past few days…bitching about how people who qualify for food stamps actually use the program to eat…while applauding corporations not paying any taxes while using the laws/programs that allow them to do that….shouldn’t their heads be spinning yet? I guess “corporations are people my friends” and as such they are more equal than real ones….geez…
