Well…what a wasted day…felt like crap all day and so damn exhausted that I didn’t get out for a second ride…just didn’t have the energy for it so I just laid on the couch most of the day…but that didn’t help since I still feel exhausted and I didn’t do anything all day…I wonder what it could be? Yeah, I know…have been working a lot and riding way too much but it has to be more than that…must not have gotten enough calories yesterday and haven’t made up for it today at all…I did have a chicken breast and some tots for lunch and then made a bean burrito for dinner but the two of them were only about 1200 calories and I burn that much on the bike…all I know is I don’t like feeling like this at all…so damn tired that it is even hard to just sit here and type…so, I think I’ll stop here and make some popcorn or something to get some more calories in me…I need to get the rest of the living room painted tomorrow and get started on the filling and sanding in the hallway so I can paint that later in the week along with the bedroom I’m going to use…and then I have to make a trip to Mt. P Saturday for some business…so it’s not going to be an easy week…damn….

September 15th
Well…running a little late today since I wanted to get the bike ride in before it started raining…and I almost did…it held off until the last half mile or so and then rained like crazy…so I did get wet but it’s almost 70 out there so it wasn’t bad…slept okay last night but I do need to stop the sleeping pills because they make me groggy in the morning and I feel like crap until noon or so and it’s just not worth it..and I do need to think about my blood pressure…I did get the bathroom cleaned yesterday and that made me feel good but I’m not sure how much I’ll do today….need to watch soccer this morning and have more coffee….I finally have the shifter on the bike figured out and it worked perfectly today and that makes me want to do a second ride today even though I could use a little rest to let some of the pain go away….just sore everywhere and feel pretty creaky today and I refuse to think it’s because I’m old…I am but I still refuse to think it…more later…
Barr gets slapped down…
Well…hey it’s Saturday and I’m doing a political one…that’s pretty unusual as you know…but, this one made my day and I thought I’d pass it along if you haven’t read about it yet…as you know, trump and his minions have had a concerted effort to try to destroy Andrew McCabe, the former FBI director for not being trumpy enough and actually following the law while he was director…and the latest was that Barr tried to use the Justice department to pursue the vendetta that trump has pushed since about when he got into office but that didn’t work out so well for him over the past few days. Just Friday, the grand jury that Barr took his “evidence” of wrongdoing to laughed him right out of the building…voting a “true no bill” which the Justice Manual compels the justice department and the AG not to resubmit the case to the same or a different grand jury…what that really means is that the evidence is not even strong enough for the grand jury to indict let alone get a conviction in court…now, part of this is speculation based on the fact that the GJ was dismissed with no indictment revealed and you can bet that if there was an indictment, idiot boy trump would be tweeting about it right now…but, not a peep so where is it? This won’t be the last time that trump and Barr try to use the justice department to go after their enemies but I hope the people that sit on the GJ’s will continue to tell them to follow the law…
September 14th
Well…the moon sure looked cool this morning when I got up…filling this place with that cool, bluish looking light that allowed me to walk around here without any lights on…but, it is cold in here this morning after I left the window open overnight…I did sleep okay last night but was up at 5 again and it was the cold that woke me up and I was able to go back to sleep until 6 so that looks like a win to me….I really do need to clean this place up today and I will after I get the ride in and watching Man U at 10…have been feeling really beat up with the work on the house but my elbow is better this morning and I think it was the ibuprofen I took last night that did it….I’m still having problems with the 5-6 shift on the bike and that is really, really annoying but I don’t want to put the new shifter on yet…this one should last at least to 10,000 miles and that would be another 3K to get to that point…I did get some WD the other day and soaked it in it last night so we’ll see how that works this morning…I am a little depressed that I know that the cold days are coming and there will be no more t-shirt rides in the morning…but, not today…it is 60 out there right now so I can get out as soon as it gets light enough to see and I am going to savor this one knowing it may be one of the last ones…more later….
No politics again today…
Well…just feeling so damn beat today that I haven’t had the energy to do the reading I need to do one on politics so I think I’ll just wait until tomorrow…so, what is this one about? Who knows? Just sitting here and thought I’d put down some thoughts and see where it goes…I have been so sore with all of the painting lately that I really need this weekend off to get my right wrist and elbow to heal up some…I think the tendons are irritated and I should take something for it but will wait until later so I can sleep tonight…I guess I was wrong about T….got a bunch of texts from her today…more than I have over the past couple of weeks and that has me scratching my head…hmmmm….I did get the entire living room done today and got the second coat on half of it…burned through a whole gallon of paint today and that is more than I have done in a day since I started on this project…I can see using another 5 or 6 gallons to finish everything and but I won’t have that done before I move in….just need to do the hallway to the bedrooms and the bedroom I’m going to use in the next couple of weeks…so, this one turned into a house update….it is coming along and I can’t wait to move….
September 13th
Well…cripes…it’s raining out there right now and it appears that I won’t be able to get a bike ride in this morning before heading over to paint at the house…I really don’t know what to do with this luxurious amount of time…I mean, 3 hours to just sit here and have coffee and read? This is not going to be easy….didn’t even get up until after 6 and already I’m getting antsy…oh, well….it was an okay day yesterday and I got a bunch of errands run but forgot almost half of the stuff I needed at Aldi’s so I may have to stop there on the way back from painting….I do need some chicken thighs that were on sale but they didn’t have any yesterday so I think I’ll check today….didn’t get any cleaning done around here yesterday and I think I’ll wait til the weekend to do any of the things that need to be done….so, I get the afternoon off after painting to just look at the weather and see if I can get at least one bike ride in….it does appear that T has decided that our friendship is over and that one is going to hurt a little…not as much as it would have a few years back but still, being dumped by her as a boyfriend twice and now as a friend makes me wonder who would do something like that…I mean I’m not an ogre or an asshole…I think, and I can’t think of anything I may have done other than be a friend so this one is confusing…I can only think of what I used to say to my kids when they were growing up…”you’ll live through it” and I know I will but my life is just a little bit emptier with her no longer in it…more later…
What genius thought Jim Hackett was the solution for Ford?
Well…hey, look at that…I’m not going to talk about trump today and I’m sure you are as relieved as I am…but, I am going to talk about something that has been puzzling me all week after Ford’s bonds were downgraded to junk status…what genius thought that Jim Hackett had the talent to be the solution for Ford’s problems? Let’s go back a ways to his tenure at Steelcase, a company that WAS the world’s largest furniture manufacturer until Hackett got done with it and bailed into “retirement”…we had a saying when I worked at Steelcase…that a monkey could cut jobs and outsource production…but that is Hackett’s only claim to fame there…taking over a company with over 11,000 employees and 9 manufacturing plants with good paying jobs…and turning that into a company with less than 3,000 employees and no manufacturing left in the US after outsourcing everything to plants in Mexico. No innovation, no understanding of the talent the company had, and no growth…and now he has done the same thing to Ford…and all they would have had to do is drive 150 miles or so over to this side of the state and they would see what a no talent hack he is…but I guess that doesn’t matter in the insular world of the 1% where the norm is to fail up and pay no consequences for stupidity or the lack of talent. I have been a Ford man my entire life and I feel for them for getting snowed by Hackett and putting the company in danger…maybe this is what it takes to break the cycle of the incestuous relationships that lead to the same few people getting chance after chance even after being an abject failure….geez….
September 12th
Well…finally, we got some good storms last night and the rain I need to get the lawn at the house greened up some…feel a little crappy this morning and part of it is I’m just wearing myself out by riding the bike too much but today may be a break from that…it looks like rain is coming in and will be here after I get the grocery run in so it will be a one ride day today if I get one in at all…it would be a luxury to have a day off the bike and just run errands but you know me, it would be hard to take the day off if it doesn’t rain all day….I did get notice that the windows will be installed at the house next week so it look like it will be un condemned in a couple of weeks which will allow me to get started moving…should be in there by mid October and that will be a relief…I think I need to clean around here today if it rains since my bathroom needs it and the whole place can use a once over so that will be the plan for the day…after more coffee that is….more later….

Well…just getting ready to get back on the bike for the second ride of the day but thought I would comment on an article I just read a few minutes ago…the “jobs” president really is if you count jobs lost to his stupid trade war….already, the idiot has cost over 300,000 jobs across the US and the projections are that, by the election in 2020, there will be almost a million jobs lost in damn near every industry that are affected by stupids war…now, I know I harp on this a lot but, what would the repubs have said if it was Obama who did this? If it was Obama who staggered around showing his ignorance every damn day and hurting the country with everything that comes out of his moronic mouth? Here’s the thing, most of these jobs are probably lost by people who voted for the idiot and they still support him even after going broke…this is the very definition of a cult and these people need to be deprogrammed if they are ever going to be able to identify reality and be a part of society again….but, I’m not holding my breath….
September 11th
Well…not sure how to start this one…getting bored talking about sleep and how I feel so I don’t think I’ll do that this morning…had an okay day yesterday and got the living room ceiling painted at the house and got the good news that the windows will be put in next week and that will start the process of getting the water turned on so I can work on the plumbing and have the place ready for me to start moving my stuff over…hope to be in the place by mid October…have been having some problems with the bike that I haven’t been able to figure out…the 5-6 shift is hanging up and cleaning out the shifter hasn’t worked so I think I’ll change lubricants and go back to wd-40 since that seems to work the best…I can’t believe how sensitive it is to what I use…when I used some synthetic motor oil, it stopped shifting completely like the oil was glue…I did find some penetrating oil to use that has worked before so we’ll see on the ride this morning….not much to do today…I have some chicken thighs that I need to figure out a new marinade for so I can cook them tomorrow and I should clean my bathroom but I’m taking the day off the house tomorrow so maybe I’ll wait until then…it’s going to be an errand day tomorrow since I need more paint and groceries….more later….
