Well…I am kind of laughing at the fits that right has been throwing over the Ukraine unrest calling Obama weak and howling for some show of military force to try to intimidate Putin into leaving Ukraine alone and not invading….and the comparisons of Obama to Putin…that Putin is a strong leader since he will not hesitate to use military force…and that Obama looks weak since he prefers to use all of the diplomatic tools in the toolbox first; leaving military action as a last resort (which, by the way, has been US foreign policy since the country was founded)… yadda, yadda. With the events of the past few days, and the fact that Putin has called his troops back to their bases defusing the situation somewhat in response to diplomatic pressure, we see that the right is wrong…again..or should I say as always? Diplomacy done right works in most cases…some thing that the chickenhawks on the right just don’t want to hear….where is the profit for their buddies if there is no more war? What I want to see now is Palin, Graham, and the rest of these idiots to apologize for their attempted undermining of our foreign policy for political reasons…and to admit that they don’t know what the hell they are talking about…but, facts don’t matter to the right so I guess I shouldn’t hold my breath…geez….

More laughs for us…
Well…I haven’t really been following the immigration debate until the past few days…and what a few days that has been! I find the outrage on the right of the “leaked” Obama plan making me smile and smile…and one thing I find the funniest is that the leaked plan is almost exactly the same plan that ole Marco Rubio was going to propose…of course until Obama proposed it, then it was a commie, socialist, Kenyan plan as described by Rush and ole McCain…but, since these ideas are supported by a great majority of the electorate on both the right and left, where does that leave the repubs? I think Obama is finally figuring out that the right will reflexively oppose anything that he wants up to “two chickens in every pot”….and that gives him leverage and maneuvering room…it is so much fun to watch the repubs reacting to everything that Obama does; running around with no strategy and making themselves look like fools in the process…and Lindsay Graham has sunk so low as to citing internet rumors as reason to oppose Chuck Hagel…making himself look ridiculous to everyone but the crazy asses on the hard right. All I have to say to him and the rest of the right is “please proceed”…geez…
No big topics…
Well…have been thinking and thinking to try to come up with a big topic for the day with no success so I guess I’ll just go on about a few small ones…let’s start with the pope resigning…the first thing that came into my head was “who cares?” Can’t think of a more irrelevant person in the world today…presiding over an institution that has long outlived its usefulness and has devolved into almost a hate group…I mean, did you read his “Christmas” message where he went on and on about how bad gays and lesbians are and tried to justify discriminating against them? The world would be a better place if they would just go away and stop trying to impose the 12th century on women in this country and across the world…and that goes for the rest of organized religion as well.
Okay…new topic…you can see how far the repubs have sunk into crazy with the threat from Lindsey Graham to filibuster the presidents picks for Sec Def and CIA director…let’s put this in context…this has never happened in the history of the country…not once has a cabinet selection been blocked in this manner and I am so tired of the repubs thinking up new ways to screw up the country…
Moving on to Michigan….where are the jobs Republicans? Oh, no jobs legislation? No, nothing but more of the same…raise taxes on the people, cut taxes for corporations, and try to restrict womens rights to control their own bodies….I think you can see the genesis of the malaise that I have been feeling lately with the crap that is going on across the US…and don’t get me started on the extra-legal drone policies that Obama has just released…I think this country has lost it’s collective mind and it’s taking mine with it…geez…
They’ve lost David Brooks…
Well…I’ve been kind of following the whole fiscal curb/debt ceiling nonsense with my peripheral vision over the past few days and a couple of things have begun to strike me…the first is that the right has lost one of their loyal commentators today with an article from David Brooks stating in no uncertain terms that it is the repubs who are wholly responsible for the mess we are in…even though it’s not a mess really…it just our country being held hostage by a bunch of right wing terrorists who put Grover Norquist and the rich first…and everyone else can go to hell. Then, you have Lindsey Graham coming out yesterday saying that he will crash the economy if the tax cuts for the rich are not protected by raising the retirement age and cutting SS benefits…just like ole Snyder did here in Michigan, this idiot would make retirees go hungry just so his rich donors and corporations can suck more and more out of the economy….how much is enough? Do we just have to kill everyone that is out of a job or living on the SS they paid for their whole working life? That appears to be what they want and the only thing that will satisfy them….and they won’t stop until there is the 1% with all the money and everyone else broke and starving….geez…
Wasted days and wasted nights…
Well…it has been one long, wasted day today and I have done absolutely nothing except rest and watch movies today and I may be feeling a little better…still have the chills and am sweating like crazy but the throat is better, I hope, and that may be cause to have some hope…I did want to write about the whole Susan Rice hypocrisy and the comparison to what Condi Rice did during her time in GW’s administration…okay I will…as you know, the repubs have been screaming conspiracy about the whole Benghazi nonsense, and they have been vowing to block Susan Rice’s nomination for sos just for her reading the talking points that were given to her by the intelligence folks…what about the approval of Condi Rice when she deliberately lied to the American people about Iraq’s ability to make a nuclear weapon when she had been told that the intelligence was faulty and she used it anyway. Now, which is worse, reading a paper or lying to the American people? And getting us into a war that cost us trillions of dollars and got over 4,000 Americans and countless Iraqis killed? I think you know the answer to that…so when you hear the hypocrites McCain and Graham (who helped push Condi Rice’s approval through the Senate), just think hypocrite, hypocrite, hypocrite, and stop listening to these idiots…they don’t deserve it…
More stimulus nonsense…
Well…I hope you’ve read the latest repub talking point on the stimulus where they are still hammering on stimulus packages as never have been effective in the history of the world and trying to make the point that the stimulus that started to pull us out of the depression should never have been done….as evidenced by the double dip that happened after Roosevelt cut spending while the recovery was still fragile. But the funniest thing I’ve heard lately came from Lindsey Graham, the repub from South Carolina, is the newest talking point that said the only thing that brought us out of the depression was WWII….Lindsey….I have news for you, WWII was the largest stimulus program in the history of the world with huge amounts of deficit spending done by the federal government to build factories and infrastructure that was used to fuel the boom of the 50′s….how stupid can these guys be? I guess you can see it, or hear it whenever they talk…what’s the next talking point repubs? Aren’t you tired of being wrong all of the time?
