September 17th

Well…running a little early today with being used to getting up really early over the past few days while I was out in Baltimore…it is kind of nice to get back into the old routine with coffee and tv playing in the background as I do this…I felt fine until I got home yesterday afternoon but then the bottom fell out and I felt exhausted the rest of the day…not too sore today, though, and I feel okay so I plan to get out on the bike after I work out in a bit but I want to ease into it a little today…I do need to try one of the new, healthy recipes that I am switching over to with eating whatever I liked over the weekend…there were burgers and sausages involved so I’m sure my cholesterol is through the roof…I have 90 days to get it down so I’m sure I can…and my BP was down to 123/71 after I rested a bit yesterday afternoon so it looks like that is on the right track…not much to do today…just want to ease into being back here and with pool today, I won’t really have the time to do much else…might start cleaning the bathroom this morning but maybe not…more later….

Manafort has flipped…

Well…not sure how long this one is going to be but I just wanted to acknowledge that Paul Manafort has flipped and is now going to work with Mueller to  fill in the gaps in the trump/Russia investigation, but not just that, Manafort has been in repub politics since back in the Reagan administration and has seen all of the scams and lawbreaking that has happened in the past 40 years by the repubs…but, more than that, he saw all of the conspiracy that got trump installed as president even though he was only campaign manager for 4 months..but those 4 months were the decisive ones in the election…so, I think Mueller has enough now to charge trump but I also think he is going to continue to build the cases in the methodical way he has done through the entire investigation…and remember that no one who Mueller has charged has walked away from the charges…and trump won’t either…impeach…

September 16th

Well….running really early today with getting ready to head back to GR and not being able to sleep with this damn cough I’ve had for 10 days now…going to call the doctor tomorrow and see what the heck is going on since I think this can’t be normal…other than the cough, I don’t feel too bad today other than the soreness from all of the activities this weekend and I am looking forward to getting home and vegging the rest of the day…had a good time last night at S’s retirement party at Camden Yards and ate way too much food so today will be a light one and I’m not sure if I’m going to cook or not…maybe just some pasta since that is easy and I have lots of it around….I will be getting back to some political stuff later today with the bombshell that Manafort has flipped and the rest of the news that I need to catch up on…more later….

September 15th

Well….up and running again today kind of early and quite sore after the fun trip to NYC yesterday and we have another one today with going over to Camden yards later today for a ball game and S’s retirement party….haven’t been to a major league game since the 80′s at Tiger Stadium so it should be fun…and, we are in a suite so that should make it even cooler if the weather cooperates….have had a lot of fun but it will be nice to get back to GR and into normalcy…I do have a dermatologist appointment Wed to have a cyst taken off my neck that has been annoying me for months now and it will be nice to have the itching stop….slept okay last night being worn out from the trip and don’t feel that bad today…the no cocktails help and I am wondering what my BP will be when I get home…I will be spending most of the day on the couch tomorrow watching some sports and recovering and I am looking forward to that…more later…

New York City….

Well…just got back here an hour ago from the trip to NYC and all I can say is that it was a frickin hoot…walked almost 8 miles over the course of the day and I am sore right now but it was so darn worth it…when we got off the bus in town, it was a two block walk and we were standing in the middle of Times Square with all of the other tourists that were gawking just like we were…oh, let’s stop here to acknowledge that I had the best tour guide in my daughter…she knows how to get everywhere so all I had to do was follow her and that made for such a stress free day…and she likes being the navigator so I just sat back and let her….we saw Rockefeller Center, Central Park and many, many other places that were just abstracts to me until now and now I’ve walked through it and seen lots of it and that is so cool…we spent some time trying to find the “Doctor Who” rock in Central Park but didn’t…but the capper of the day was going to the Statue of Liberty and being able to climb up inside of it all the way to the crown…something that only 1% of the visitors get to do and that had to be reserved in April to get in…the spiral staircase that led to the top was 165 steps but the smallest, steepest steps I have ever seen and so cramped that I was banging my shoulders on the handrails all the way up and needed to pull myself up with my arms to make it…after the Statue, we went to Columbus circle at the entrance to Central Park to meet up with one of my sons and his girlfriend and had a nice talk and lots of laughs before heading back to the bus for the ride back here…one of the coolest days that I can remember and have so many memories that I will be processing for a long, long time…and I even have lots of photos that my daughter took with her Nikon that I have to download to my computer before I head home on Sunday….what a day!

September 14th

Well…up quite early today with having to be on the road to NYC by 6:30…had a nice day yesterday but it was a little tiring with all the travel but the flights went well so that was cool….slept okay even in a new bed and that may be a new pattern now and I can live with that….7 days with no sleep aids and my body may be getting used to it….and with no antihistamines and that was a little bit of a chore with  a slight headache all the way here but I can live with it if it brings my blood pressure down…used my new machine to check it yesterday when I got up and it was only 125/80 so that is quite an improvement over the 150 that the doctor got in his office…I’ll check it again when I get home Sunday to see if the improvement is real or not….went out to eat with my daughter and son in law last night and ate more in one sitting than I normally eat in two days but I hadn’t had anything all day so I guess I can live with that…will be doing a lot of walking today so that should even out….it looks like no rain today and temps only in the 70′s so it should be perfect for walking around….I need to get moving and cleaned up for the day so I’ll end here…will try to update later after I get back later today….more later…

In Baltimore….

Well…just got to Baltimore and I’m at my daughter’s house…the flight was okay and I am getting excited to go to NYC tomorrow…we’re going to try to find the rock in Central Park that they used in “Doctor Who” and take a picture there so I can post that one on Facebook….looks like my daughter has a pretty cool trip planned and I can’t wait to see the sights and smell the smells of NYC….going out to dinner in a few but wanted to update here before we do that….going to be a pretty cool weekend….

At the airport…

Well…at the airport now and a bit early but since I haven’t flown in 6 years, I wanted to get here a little early to find the cheap parking lot…and it was pretty cool that the shuttle picked me up right at my car and they will deliver me back to it when I get back here Sunday….not much of a pain to get through security…only took about 10 mins so I have about a half hour until I board to head to Midway for the connection to Baltimore….I may post a few travel photos to facebook when I get to Midway but I’m not sure if it’s interesting enough….more later…

September 13th

Well…running early today with getting up early to get ready to head to the airport…kind of excited to have some time doing something different and to see a couple of my kids over the weekend…and I am feeling better this morning with much less coughing overnight and I even slept okay so that’s good way to start the day…even took my blood pressure with the new toy when I got up and it was better with the result of 125/80 and a pulse rate of 61…much better than the 150 they got in the doctors office….maybe the no antihistamines  or cocktails is really helping…I’ll be curious to see what it is when I get back Sunday…didn’t get much done yesterday but packing and the grocery run and today will be taken up with traveling so I won’t get anything else done…I am pretty happy that the reaction to the flu shot is almost over and I can have a nice weekend….will try to update here as normal but I may not be able to do the two a day….more later…

Grading on the curve…

Well…not sure how much I’ll be here over the next few days with getting ready to head out to Baltimore tomorrow and then on the move until I get home Sunday…but, I am taking my computer with me so I’ll try to come here for at least a short one every day.. But, first…I want to comment on the idiot in chief’s comments on the abject failures of his administration to deal with the hurricanes that hit the US last year…but, in the addled mind of idiot boy, he rated himself an A+ for his personal involvement and how well he did to help people that were hit by them…going so far as to say that, in secret, people are saying that it couldn’t have been handled any better…and people are going to find out soon how wonderful a job he did….hmmm…does that sound familiar? “Heck of a job, Brownie” is what ole GW had to say to his failure of a FEMA director and his response to Katrina where thousands died because of their ineptitude. Can you say “grading on a curve”…it’s an A+ that at least 3,000 and as many as 5,000 Puerto Ricans died on his watch due to the indifference that trump and his minions showed to the “brown” people that every damn one of his administration hates?  And now we have another huge hurricane bearing down on the country and the only work being done is to steal money from FEMA to build more places to lock up immigrants? I really hope that this hurricane is not as bad as the forecast but maybe people need a shock that climate change is real and is resulting in more and stronger storms…and there are two more backed up right behind Florence and 4 more in the Pacific heading toward Hawaii…and folks, there has never been 7 storms at a time…ever in the history of records…so I wonder what could be causing it? Impeach…
