Well…just read that Bernie Sanders just endorsed Joe Biden in the online forum that Joe was using to talk about some of the issues today…and it was exactly what I was looking for, asking his followers, independents, greens, and even sane repubs to support Joe and return this country to sanity….and Joe talked directly to Bernie’s supporters and thanked them for their ideas and enthusiasm and promised to earn their votes in the fall…now, this is exactly what I was hoping would happen…but I would have gone a little further even and had Joe promise that Bernie is going to be an integral part of the campaign and administration that Joe puts together…here’s the thing, too…even when being attacked during the campaign, Joe was always the gracious, decent human being that this country needs right now…but that is Joe…no flash or soaring rhetoric but an innate goodness that trump and his cabal of idiots just don’t possess…and that needs to go into lots of ads starting now…split screen with Joe consoling an American and trump screaming at one of his “rallies”…cripes I could write a hundred of them…again…thanks Bernie…

Well…with the news today the Bernie Sanders is dropping out of the race for the dem nomination, all I have to say is thanks Bernie….look, I’ve been a fan of Bernie’s for a long time with his core being always trying to look out for the little guy and trying to rein in the corporations who are sucking this country dry. Bernie was not my choice in the primary, I voted for Liz Warren since I think she has the best combination of empathy, tact and steel and would make a great president…but, she didn’t win and am I sitting here pouting and saying that I’ll vote for trump if Liz is not the nominee? I’m looking at you Joe Rogan…you pea-brained idiot…you’d give us 4 more years of trump just because your fee fees are hurt that your guy didn’t get enough votes to win…I’ve got news for you, moron…that’s how it works…Joe got more votes so he is the nominee…with no rigging of the primaries or any other bullshit conspiracy theories that you and the rest of the “Bernie Bros” have been spouting….okay Bernie, now is the time to tell your followers in no uncertain terms that you will back Joe completely and you expect your followers to do the same…to do anything else is to be collaborators in the destruction of this country…and no, destruction is not necessary for the country to be rebuilt…it makes it so much damn harder to get the society you say you want….so, swallow your pride and understand that Joe Biden, with Bernie, Liz, Kamala, Amy, and Pete working together can start that repair process…and get us all to the country we can be if we just shoulder the repubs aside…
I’ve had enough…
Well…it’s another primary day in the vote for the dem candidate and with the polls showing that Joe Biden is going to be the big winner today, the predictable morons on our side are all over the internet saying that they can’t vote for Joe because he is just another republican or that the nomination was stolen from Bernie or there is no difference between the idiot trump and Joe…hey morons, if you are so stupid that you think a non vote for Joe is not a vote for the idiot boy you are dumber than a box of rocks. Yeah, Joe may be more conservative than you’d like and he may have taken some centrist stands over the years but comparing him to trump? That is just whining that your guy is going to lose…do you think there is a chance that any of your progressive agenda is going to be enacted if you sit this out and trump wins? With Joe, and the rest of the congress in our control, you bernie supporters still have a chance to shape the agenda and get some of what you want if Joe is president…and let’s remember, even if Bernie was elected, the congress is more conservative and cautious than he and you guys are and you are not going to get everything he wants either….you know, I’ve had enough of this damn whining from people on our side…Joe wasn’t my first choice but he is a decent human being that won’t keep children in cages, will fight for a woman’s right to control her own body, and will protect the working people in this country along with agreeing to much of our agenda…if that is not enough for you than go back to your whining and wait for another 4 years of trump and you’ll never get a bit of your agenda…go ahead, cut off that nose….
Super Tuesday part two…
Well…the voting is over and it appears that Joe Biden is the big winner in the primaries from yesterday….just a couple of weeks ago, the pundits were all saying his candidacy was dead and Bernie was going to take the nom easily…but, guess what? The voters had other ideas and those who wanted someone who could beat trump rose up and decided that Joe was the one…and it looks like his votes were a cross section of America…bolstered by AA voters, Latinos, and even some young people who are just so damn tired of the idiot trump that they voted for pragmatism instead of progressivism. I feel a little bad that Liz didn’t do better but what a VP candidate she would make…with Joe setting the agenda and then Liz doing what she does…making a plan for that. I’m not sure if we can count on Bernie’s supporters for the general with his comments last night that were basically a rant against people in the dem party who didn’t choose him…not a good look with all of the anger..but that is Bernie and if Joe wins, we need outreach to his supporters to get some of them on board….the hard core Bernie supporters are gone…they are almost as much of cultists as trump supporters are…okay, no…that’s not right..they are tired of the status quo and they feel Bernie can deliver change that no one else can….but, if they don’t come along, there may be no change but for the worse if trump steals another election. That has got to be the message to them…that they are welcome and Bernie’s ideas are welcome…we are the big tent party after all and should welcome anyone who can help…this is going to get even more interesting in the next month or so…next we need Bloomberg gone but not his money…if it used to defeat the idiot trump….
I understand Bernie’s appeal….
Well…let’s get this straight right up front…Bernie calling himself a “Democratic Socialist” is just a label that I think he should stop using…and the label isn’t descriptive of his policies which are really mainstream dem from only a decade or so ago…and they were normal from a decade or two ago before the dems started their rightward slide under Clinton. With his performance and win in Nevada, he is the front runner right now and I can understand his appeal…after decades of the same old bullshit incremental change that the dems have tried, to be blocked at every turn by unscrupulous repubs, the people on our side are tired of small ideas, are tired of the rich running the show and getting whatever they want, and are tired of us having no voice as business as usual happens to us. What we need now is a big vision and big ideas and that is why young people are flocking to Bernie…they are the ones who are bearing the brunt of inequality and lessened opportunity that the repubs have forced on them…and they want someone who will at least listen and try to make their lives better, something that will never happen with the repubs in charge….and can you imagine a ticket with Bernie and Liz on it? Or Bernie and Amy? Now that would be something to see…Liz taking Pence apart in a debate as Bernie would with the idiot trump….but I am going to harp on this again…vote for the dem no matter who it is…no sulking Bernie Bros or anyone else if you person doesn’t earn the nomination…the stakes are too high for sitting in the corner and not voting because your favorite didn’t get there…and we need the senate back so get the hell out and vote as if your life depends on it…it really does…
I’m a Bernie fan, too…
Well…as I said yesterday, I think I’ll do a series on the good candidates, not the idiot trump…okay, after 3 years I still can’t understand why any one would vote for idiot boy…but, Bernie I could…since I first became aware of Bernie quite a few years back, his outspoken unabashed liberalism where he understands that government needs to be the referee between people and business is just what I have always said…even though I used to be quite conservative when I was younger and did believe that the less government “interference” the better… in my personal life experience where I have been discriminated against just because I was old, and couldn’t find a real job from the time I was axed from Steelcase in my late 40′s until I gave up and retired…it made me realize even more that people need to have the power equation balanced by government to give everyone a fair shake….and that is one of the central ideas of Bernie’s campaign, that the playing field needs to be leveled and the rich and corporations need to be forced to play fair since they won’t do it without the government getting involved. I can get behind that since I’m tired of the rich getting everything they want and leeching everything out of our society and leaving nothing but crumbs for the rest of us…again, I will get behind any of our candidates because any of them are light years ahead of idiot boy….and we won’t see them getting installed by a foreign power and destroying our country bit by bit every day….
Some civility…
Well…not a lot going on today except for the Tigers home opener so I thought I’d just talk a little about politics….there has been some huge amounts of sniping going on between Bernie and Hillary over the past month or so and I’ve had a problem with it…after all, we’re supposed to be the party of ideas not of nastiness like the repubs…but, in a good sign for the general, the two campaigns have called a truce…at least on who is qualified to be president anyway…but, I think they need to stretch that truce to include everything…we have made the mistake in the past of being repub light when that’s not what people want…at least on our side…and, you don’t appeal to independents by being meaner and nastier than the repubs…and I don’t think anyone can be nastier than Trump or Cruz….what we need to do is continue to highlight the policy differences between us and them…and we’ve had 35 years to figure that out since the repubs have been saying the same things that don’t work since Reagan and they aren’t going to change now…geez…
Some good news….
Well…haven’t done a political one in a while since the crap that is going on over on the repub side has just gotten to be too much for me to follow…I mean, a presidential candidate telling his followers to beat up people they don’t agree with? With that, there is no room for any policy discussion on that side but we’ve heard it all…tax cuts for the rich…blah, blah…so I guess we don’t really have to hear any more….but, there was one bit of good news that came out of a national poll on the general election that was released the other day…and that is that either Bernie or Hillary would beat Drumpf by about 10 points with Bernie doing a little better….and those numbers are sure to go up as people hear more from the idiot….how far has the repub party fallen since I was young….when we had people like Vandenberg, and Ford and Bill Milliken….and now we have Drumpf, Cruz, and Rubio….have never seen a worse set of no talent hacks in my life….geez..
Michigan feels the “Bern”
Well…it was an interesting day yesterday in Michigan politics where Bernie beat Hillary by 4 points to win the Michigan primary. That was really a surprise given that the last poll in the race had Hillary ahead by almost 20 points and the pundits had written him off…weeks ago…but, one of the things that they didn’t count on was the record turnout on both the repub and dem side of the aisle….one of the biggest surprises was the makeup of the win for Bernie with many more people of color breaking for him that anyone predicted…that, along with an overwhelming win in the youngster vote put him over the top….not sure what that is going to mean with Hillary so far out ahead in the delegate count, and with her winning Mississippi….Bernie is still a long shot but he is pulling her back toward the traditional dem platform instead of the repub lite that she has been selling…better for the country for sure….go Bernie….
It’s a tie in Iowa….
Well…not sure if you have been following the causcases in Iowa, but I’m pretty sure you’re as tired of it as I am…the cool result was that Bernie and Hillary basically tied with only two tenths of a point separating them and the policy that they stressed was what the dems wanted to hear…not like the right who are filled with crap and personal attacks that I am just tired of. I probably should mention that Ted Cruz won on the repub side with Trump being the first loser as he calls it and Rubio coming in third that he has been touting all day as a win…the delusion runs deep in this one. the one thing I want my side to remember is to not go overboard on that support…that when or if your candidate loses, we have to remember to support the other candidate on our side….to sit out to just spite the chosen candidate will hand the presidency to the repubs…and I’m not sure that damage will ever be repaired…look how long it took Obama to fix the mess left by ole GW…geez…
