Well…as you can see, I’m not counting the days of the recommended social distancing anymore because it appears that it is going to last a couple of months and I don’t want to get depressed when I see how many days it’s been…I did text all of the kids yesterday and they are doing fine and are all working from home…my son in NYC is taking a couple of weeks off since it is a hotbed of the virus infection and he is trying hard to avoid it…and I am a little concerned about him but what can I do? Talked to a few friends over the past couple of days and, with them being normal people who go out and do things, it appears that this stay at home thing is much harder for them than it is for me…at least at this point…I really haven’t had any social life for a couple of years now so I’m used to being by myself…and part of that was the need to save cash until I officially retired and got some money coming in…oh, and that reminds me that I need to bitch about something…it appears that the stimulus that is wending it’s way through congress and is supposed to put money in people’s hand to spend to keep the economy going is mostly a bailout of business and individuals have had to file taxes last year to get anything…and that leaves out all of us who are living on Social Security since we don’t pay taxes on it…and we are the ones who can use the money the most and will spend it….so, the repub bullshit that this is going to help people is blown up…and they are giving billions to cruise ship companies that are not even American…but they are well connected in conservative circles….did you expect anything else? Oh, well…I won’t starve but I do worry about the older folks who could really use the cash and I fault Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer for letting this happen…okay, that’s enough for now….more later…

So, Roberts is just a repub hack…who knew?
Well….I guess John Roberts has a problem with getting the fee fees of the SC hurt after Chuck Schumer quoted Kavanaugh’s rant during his confirmation hearing saying that there would be payback if they didn’t vote for him…and all Schumer was trying to say is if this court ignores precedent and makes up law to ban abortion and overturn Roe, there will be electoral consequences..which is the truth. So, the hack can take all of the idiot trump’s threats to everyone and his shredding of the constitution, but if Chuck tells the truth, that is just too much and Roberts has to speak up…something that is never done by the sitting chief justice and reveals that Roberts is just a repub hack who is not the “caller of balls and strikes” as he said in his confirmation hearing but just another liar on the right who is using his court as a way to impose the ultra right wing nonsense that can’t get passed by the house and senate on the country who doesn’t want it. Especially in this case, more than 70% of the country wants Roe maintained and the access to safe abortion protected…but that doesn’t matter to this hack…he is going to be remembered as the justice who ruined the court’s reputation as being and honest arbiter of the law and turned it into just another corrupt part of the right wing machine…nice job Johnny boy….
Trump has his ass handed to him…
Well…it was quite a spectacle a couple of hours ago when the idiot trump invited Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to the WH to discuss legislation to keep the government open…I am still laughing that idiot boy wanted the meeting to be covered live and he thought he could bully Pelosi and Schumer to get the damn wall since he was able to do that to Paul Ryan and the rest of the repubs he has had to deal with…when he started his usual schtick of going on and on that the wall is needed to keep the country safe and that he would shut down the government if he didn’t get funding, Schumer basically said go for it and Pelosi made it clear that she understood that he couldn’t get funding for the wall passed even in current repub controlled House…and trump continued to bluster that he could get funding passed “in a minute” if he wanted to…sounding like a little kid caught in a boast that he knew was a lie and then reverted to bragging that the repubs “won” the senate..to which Schumer replied “when the president brags that he won Indiana and North Dakota, he’s in real trouble” and then manuevered trump into accepting that if the government shuts down it’s his fault…all this while Pence sat there looking like he’d rather be anywhere else and trying to stay awake…the fact is that trump is facing people who know how government works and are tougher than nails and he has no clue how to do anything but bully and bluster and lie….and he had his ass handed to him…this could be a great show…impeach…

Well….I really do like the fact that “Countdown” is back since it sometimes gives me topics for the day….last night, Sen Chuck Schumer was on and he did something that I have been calling for the dems to do for at least a year now…he said the unthinkable…that the repubs are planning on crashing the economy for political gain and that is what this whole debt ceiling fight is about……I see some heartening signs that the dems are starting to call them on this nonsense not only by sen Schumers remarks, but sen Reid coming out and telling the country that Medicare and Medicaid cuts are off the table period….and they are pushing for the needed tax increases on the rich but coloring them as the patriotic duty of the well off to help the country that has given them so much…I think the tide is starting to turn….I wonder what was put in the water that made the dems grow a backbone? Whatever it is, keep doing it and maybe we can get our country back from the repub thugs….
