Well…just a short one on the dissection that is going on right now about the election last night…the whole thing has centered on the mechanics of the election…about the execution and the organization that won the election…but I don’t think that’s it at all, I think it was the ideas that won the day…that people didn’t want more tax cuts for the rich…they don’t want the government interfering in peoples lives…that the whole idea of trickle down economics is not the direction that most of the people want to see…we want to see a way to strengthen the middle class and have good jobs for everyone that wants one…and they like the direction we are going…so, let’s keep going…
Okay, we won…haven’t seen anybody fired yet…
Well…have been nursing the hangover from the election all day, and that, combined with the cold I’m still fighting, have kind of laid me low today…but, I did want to comment a little on some thoughts on the election that have been bubbling up all day…first, na na na…to Karl Rove and his minions who thought they could buy this election…how did spending that billion dollars work out for ya? Ole Karl was just crazed after Ohio was called and I just laughed so hard with him trying to get his own network to rescind the call…second…I wonder how many businesses were closed and people fired today? To listen to these idiots, the lights were going to go off across America the instant Obama got re-elected…haven’t seen any yet…and now with us still in control of most of the government, there needs to be a new law that will make it a crime to threaten your employees if they don’t vote the way you want…third…and this one just make me laugh…the tea partiers are just going frickin crazy today..with the Ohio chapter putting out an obituary for America today on their site…the only thing I have to say is grow the frick up….American is in better hands than yours and your 15 minutes is up…crawl back under the rock you came from…the days of angry white guys running this country are over and not a day too soon…hmmm….what else? That’s enough for now…oh, I even watched Fox last night just to see how bad is was for them…I can’t remember being this happy in a long, long time…
November 7th
Well…it was a long day yesterday and a little disappointing with the car still losing coolant and I’m at a loss to understand that..but, Obama won and we held the senate so it was not too bad of a day…way too many cocktails, though, and I feel like crap so this one is going to be short…really, going to end it right now since I have a pork shoulder to get in the oven for later today…and I do need to get back on the bike…more later…

Well…I just couldn’t wait to vote so I went over and got it done…only 30 mins from door to door and I feel pretty good about that…such friendly, nice people…and I still have smile on my face….it always feels good to vote, even though Michigan is going for Obama and there wasn’t the sense of urgency there was last time…now comes the waiting…I’m glad I have the workout to do and a bike ride, too, to burn off some of this energy I feel right now…or, maybe it’s the coffee and no cocktails last night? tonight is going to be different…I have cocktails and snacks to watch the returns and I hope it gets called early so I can text everyone…well…T anyway…more later…
November 6th
Well…the day is finally here and I am waiting for the polls to thin out a little bit before I go over to vote…I am excited about the whole process and I really do hope one of the idiot poll watchers confronts me…I slept for crap last night with no cocktails and I forgot the melatonin so I was up and down all night and I had dreams that involved the Miata and some good looking woman that didn’t care about my unusual lifestyle…if only real life was like that…going to keep this one short since I do need to get the pork shoulder in the oven…I will be back for lots more later…yay election…

Well…with the election getting closer and closer, I am going to be free forming this and trying to get thoughts down as I have them…which means you’ll be getting a bunch of these in the next 24 hours…I am getting so excited about this election and I’m sitting here vibrating with the new projection from Nate Silver at 538 that says that Obama now has an 86% chance at winning tomorrow and I may even be able to let myself breathe a little…I may even watch Fox a little when the results are certain to listen to how fast they make excuses and throw ole Mitt under the bus…and there will be nothing but excuses…not that their ideas as so far out of of the mainstream that the country is rejecting them but that they just weren’t conservative enough…get the point repubs…people don’t want your crazy assed ideas of putting the government into women’s health decisions or any of the others…I can’t wait for ole Mitt and crazy Paul to go away…geez…
One more thing to remember…
Well…have been thinking this aft about what to write about the election and it just jumped out at me from almost all of the platforms…twitter mostly…and the story now appears to be the repubs efforts at voter suppression in the states they control…including Florida and Ohio..to try to make sure the rig the vote, these idiots have been changing the rules on the fly; in Ohio the secretary of state, Jon Husted, has even continued to change the rules in defiance of court orders that compel him to restore the early voting that was available in 2008. One of the things you need to take away form this nonsense is the fact that where there are dem SOS, there are never any problems with voting, in fact, the dems always make it easier to vote…how much more Un-American can you get than trying to make sure some of your fellow citizens won’t get the chance to exercise the greatest right that we have…to vote to elect our leaders? The second part of this story centers on the fact that Romney and his thugs are already putting a strategy in place to delay his defeat by getting thousands of lawyers to challenge ballots across the country and are training “poll watchers” to intimidate dem-leaning voters by stopping and questioning people going into the polling places to vote along with standing over the shoulders of poll workers to try to make sure the process slows down and people will get frustrated and not vote. The only question I have is “what kind of a country do we want?” One where intimidation and shennanigans steal elections or one where the competition of ideas and easy execution of our constitutional rights decides elections? It’s your choice…make the right one…
The first election one…
Well…still not feeling too hot but I thought I’d get one out on the election before I melt into the couch and lick the wounds for the day…I am so surprised that this election is even close…and you’ve heard me say that before…in my lifetime I have never seen anyone lie like ole Mitt…I think that someone that has so little relationship with the truth is truly a sociopath bordering on being mentally ill…but I see that trait in many of the rich in this country, people who are only grounded in the reality of their gated communities and are shocked when people challenge the lies or their sense of entitlement…one example from here in West Michigan was from one of our richest families who just couldn’t understand why Ada township wouldn’t just automatically approve the construction of a heliport at their compound, even though these types of construction are expressly forbidden by ordinances that govern the township…they were truly shocked when they had to live by the laws that govern “them” and the snit they threw showed them for who they are…oh, this one was supposed to be one on politics…well..it is, of sorts…aren’t you folks tired of rich people trying to tell you how to run your lives when they have no frickin clue what it like to actually work for a living? I know I’ve had enough of it geez…
November 5th
Well…it was another day yesterday and I didn’t do too much…I did get out on the bike but that was probably a mistake since I coughed so much when I got back that my chest muscles hurt today…and back muscles, too…so I may skip today..not sure yet, I do have to put a set pf plugs in the car today since it misses a little when it idles and it is one of the things I need to do before winter…I may not change out the gear lube though, since it was 25 when I went out for the papers today and it shifted okay…I still have that bug that I had but I am out of the medicine that helped yesterday so I may have to go out and get more…it was a good thing to find out that it was a bug yesterday and not exposure to antifreeze or other chemicals around here…I am getting excited about the election and am going to plan some food and cocktails for tomorrow night while I watch the returns…it looks good for our side so it could be a good night…I will be doing an election one for later today…I need to get some thoughts down about this long slog…
The one thing you need to remember..
Well…with what is going on across the country today where the repubs are blatantly denying people their right to vote, the one thing you need to remember is who is doing it…in ALL cases it is the repubs that control the voting process in their states…these guys know they can’t win fair and square so they are doing everything they can to fix the election and steal it for Romney…but this is just the latest in the pattern of the repubs cheating every system they come into contact with…cheating to get their kids into the best schools, cheating to allow their cronies in the financial industry to steal money from the rest of us, and cheating to try to make sure the middle class has no voice in their work life by attacking the only voice they have left…membership in unions. So, the one thing you need to remember is which party is the cheater…and it IS the repubs..geez…
