Well…it was an okay day yesterday with a nice little running conversation with T that made me smile…first day of recovery after the birthday week and I am already feeling much better so that is a good thing…sleep was crappy so that kind of offsets being good but I am going to go until Thurs being good just to see how it works out….I am really sore from jumping in the pool Sat at K’s using all the new muscles but I guess aspirin will take care of that.,..I hope, I do need to get some stuff done today…mostly cleaning since I have been really lazy about that lately but I think baby steps will help…I do need to go over to Kos and do a couple of comments…more later….

Just a little trail weirdness…
Well…haven’t done one of these in a while but just wanted to relay one little part of weird that happened today…on one of the downhills that ends in a sharp corner, I came upon a bunch of turkeys that were walking on the trail and they just took off running right down the trail in front of me…not flying, but running until they could get off into the brush…it was one of the strangest things I’ve seen in a while and they can move quite fast….but, why not fly? I know they can…maybe I’m just not threatening enough…oh, one last thing, a group of turkeys is called a rafter…had to ask the phone….that it could understand what I wanted was pretty cool…
Need to talk about Detroit…
Well…with all of the drama going on with the bankruptcy in Detroit, I felt the need to comment with the latest crap from our wonderful governor on the mess there…first, I will say that some of the troubles there are a result of terrible mismanagement of the city by the string of incompetents and thieves…but, the shrinking of the city from over 2 million to under 700 thousand and the flight of most of the manufacturing base has much more to do with it…and then you have ole Snyder saying there will be no state help coming while he taxes retirees and gives almost 2 billion in tax cuts to business who have not created one job for the corporate welfare they received…isn’t Detroit part of the state too? The ones I feel the worst for are the retirees of the city of Detroit who are going to see their pensions decimated; getting only about 10 cents on the dollar that they were promised…and the bitch of it all is that they did nothing wrong…just worked their whole lives while the people in government they trusted screwed them over….but that is the repubs way of things…if you are unlucky enough to live somewhere where this can happen, you are just out of luck…you should have used your connections to get rich instead of working…what a bunch of crap….geez…
July 21st
Well…it was a long day yesterday but I had some fun at K’s….I am really worn out today but it is the start of the being good week so I will start to get better soon and should feel great in a couple of days…it was a long birthday week….slept okay last night but no dreams again..oh, well…I am behind on these so I will need to come back for two more today but right now I am going to get on the bike and burn out some of the toxins….more later…
July 20th
Well…it was a good day yesterday but I got my butt kicked at pool…just couldn’t shoot at all but that’s okay…I am happy that some of the heat is gone…it was getting wearing to have it over 90 all the time and to be constantly damp…looks to be a little nicer today but we’ll see after I get out on the bike in a couple of minutes….today is the last day of the birthday week and I am kind of looking forward to no more cocktails for a week or so…just feel so bloated and I am tired, too, so it will be good to be good…not much to do today…I do have a little bash over at K’s this aft but that won’t last too long and then just a veg day the rest of the day….should take a look in the freezer to see what to thaw for tomorrow…more later…
Here’s the difference between them and us…
Well….just a short one on a story I read in the papers yesterday about an anecdote concerning our VP Joe Biden told by one of the people on his SS detail….while visiting a donut shop, a man came up to Joe and asked him if he would meet his wife who was on her deathbed in a little house a few away…of course Joe said yes and went to the house, found that it was sweltering and turned to one of his aides and said “we need to get an A/C unit in here…” and they did it…just like that. The thing about it was this was quite a while ago and we are just now hearing about it…not from Joe but from someone who was there…I’m sure the Joe felt that just being a human being didn’t really merit being in the papers…it’s just part of life. In contrast, let’s look at the idiot Ryan and his fake washing of pots and pans with never a thought of really helping someone…the only thought being how he could exploit this fake for political gain. That’s the difference between us and them….we truly care about people and want everyone to do well and have a great life…they just don’t give a damn…geez…
July 19th
Well….getting an early start today today for some reason…feel a little crappy after a cocktail night but I did break down and run the air early last night…just got tired of being damp and walking on damp carpets…slept okay but again no dreams….I did get a lot done yesterday so I feel okay about that and I’m not sure what is going on today….Tom’s shift might have changed so there may be no pool today but it looks like there may be storms to watch so that will be cool…and then the weather breaks tomorrow…I do have to do another grocery run today but that is about it…more later…
The liar gets called out…
Well…having problems with the computer shutting down but I thought I’d get to a bit of deliciousness that I read online a few minutes ago about your friend and mine, Mitch McConnell and his lying ways finally catching up with him. Well…it is not only John McCain who is fed up with ole Mitch…as you remember, John McCain cut ole Mitch out of the filibuster negotiations the other day, wanting to actually get something done instead of the constant obstruction that ole Mitch has been doing for the past few years…and in a meeting with the repub caucus yesterday, ole Mitch tried to outright lie about what had happened and spin it as being some kind of brilliant maneuver on his part…but, Bod Corker was having none of it and called “bullshit” many times during the meeting…I wondered if there was anyone left in the repub party that had any integrity left…and I know there is just about a thimble full of integrity left on the right…at least there is still a thimble full…and it looks like Bob Corker and John McCain own most of it…geez…
July 18th
Well…running kind of normal today but barely survived the day yesterday with it being so hot…and the sleep was really crappy again for the same reason…looks like more of the same today but I have lots of stuff to do so we’ll see how that works out…work around here and then out for some errands so it looks like I’m going to skip the workout this morning, get the work done and then get out on the bike….I can always work out tomorrow and sat to make up for it….or maybe just eat veggies and call it good….more later…
Losing the political game…
Well…just wanted to comment a bit on the nonsense that has been going on in the senate since Obama was elected…where the repubs, as always, put political concerns of their party above the good of the American people; blocking nominees for executive positions and filibustering popular legislation just to suit their crazy assed right wing base. But, now it appears that even some of those in the crazy party are tiring of never getting anything done and have teamed up with Harry Reid to end the obstruction and start getting the people’s business done. It’s about time…Harry Reid has been bringing a knife to a gun fight for far too long…not believing he also had one…an even bigger one called the nuclear option where he can change the rules of the senate with just the dem caucus…and then, with those rule changes, he can tell the repubs to just go to hell if they don’t want to really govern…which describes most of the tea party folks. I am glad that ole Mitch McConnell played the petulant little child that he is right to the end…even going so far to show up at Reid’s office and try to get himself included in the reform, only to be told by Harry to basically “not let the door hit you in the ass on the way out..” something he deserved considering that he reneged on the January agreement about an hour after he made it with Reid. What a lying sack of crap….and now the rest of the repubs have lost the selfish political game they have been playing with the lives of all Americans and I hope that leads to more and more losses as the people understand that the repubs don’t give a crap about them…geez…
