The real death panel….

Well…during the repub fight against the ACA, one of their go to phrases was the law included “death panels” which would condemn people to death by restricting what type of care people would get under the law…ignoring the fact that that most elderly folks are covered under Medicare and it would have nothing to do with them….but, with a new study that came out today, the real death panel is going to be the supreme court if they rule against subsidies for people who buy their insurance through the federal exchanges…and condemn an extra 10,000 people to death per year since they won’t be able to afford unsubsidized insurance. This total can then be added to the estimated 17,000 people a year that die since the Medicaid expansion was made optional by the court and the governors of repub states decided not to expand the program. So, the only thing you need to remember is there truly is a death panel here in the US, and it is called the supreme court…geez…

Still delusional…

Well…with the things that have happened this week in politics, I thought I’d just remind everyone here just how delusional the repubs have become…let’s start with the lawsuit agianst Obama for delaying the employer mandate in Obamacare…something his administration had every right to do…and the delusional thing is that ole GW did the same thing with Medicare Part D when that was just being implemented…didn’t see any lawsuits or bitching from the repubs then…or any from the dems either since we understand that you have to change things on the fly sometimes…and the next delusion is the fact that what Obama is doing on immigration is not the unconstitutional/unlawful outrage that the delusional repubs are screaming about…in fact, every president since Eisenhower have done exactly the same thing….something like 49 times presidents have used their correct power to do something on immigration where the congress has neglected it duty to “pass something” as Obama said last week….I wonder when the adult repubs will step up and stop being delusional? Oh, that’s right, there are no adults left over there…geez…

Still no outrage…

Well…even after yesterday’s post on the takers in the repub party, I still can’t work up a lot of the outrage that normally fuels this thing…it’s not that I haven’t tried….but I think I’m in outrage overload and just a little numb from the whole direction of the country….where the ACA is doing good across the country and the repubs are still trying to take insurance away form those who have benefited from the law…and the bad thing is that these same people will vote for them since…freedom or something…not sure why the poor folks who vote for the repubs keep doing it…it’s not like they give a damn about them…they don’t…and have shown that for decades now…and no amount of regulation or tax cutting is going to get them into or keep them in the middle class…it only works to make the rich richer and make the rest of pay for their pollution and stealing of the natural resources that belong to every citizen….I guess that is communism or something…will never figure it out….geez…

Another day….

Well…have been thinking about what to write today with very little luck so I think I’ll just noodle a little and see what happens…one of the things that the repubs hating the ACA and trying to obstruct it at every turn has done is to put single payer back on the table in some states and keeping the issue alive across the country…and, why not?
The rest of the industrial world does single payer and their costs are just a fraction of what we spend on healthcare here…I’ll bet the insurance execs across the country are starting to get a little pissed at the repubs since they are keeping the issue alive when they would prefer to try to lock in their obscene profits and keep single payer from getting any traction…wouldn’t it be better to take the complexity out of healthcare by giving everyone the same coverage…where everything is covered, no co pays, no crap from the insurance companies, and you only sign up once in your lifetime…that would be nirvana to me…geez…

Stupidity, they name is repub voters…

Well…have been following the whole ACA signup process that has been going on and it looks like almost 8 million more people will have health insurance that couldn’t get it before, that couldn’t afford it before, and who were told they didn’t need it before….and the really, really stupid thing is that there are new polls out there that asked newly insured repub voters if they still want the law repealed…and a majority of them do. Now I have railed against the fact that repub voters frequently vote against their best interests in electing the party that favors the rich against everyone else, but, this is just fricking ridiculous…these folks now won’t go bankrupt from medical bills, won’t be turned away for pre-existing conditons, and won’t have a cap on what will be paid for their care….all a result of the ACA, and they still want it repealed to be replaced by what? Nothing but high risk pools that cost several times more than coverage under the ACA…or nothing….what a bunch of brainwashed idiots who have been manipulated by their party and Fox news to hate the best thing that has happened to them in a generation…for what? Freedom? Geez….

The real death panels…

Well….after hearing the repubs lie and lie about the supposed “death panels” that they just knew was a part of the ACA, I find it ironic and a little bit sick that the repub governors who have refused the medicaid expansion are actually causing people to die without this needed healthcare. A new study done by Harvard about the effects of these asses and their refusal estimate that from 7-14,000 people will die per year as a direct result of the repub governors trying to score political points…even at the low point, isn’t it just wrong that these guys accept the killing of 7,000 US citizens just so they can go to their extreme right wing donors and get money since these deaths are what people like the Koch’s want? They just don’t give a damn about anyone but the rich and playing the political game…shame on them…what a bunch of immoral asses…geez…

Schuette just hates the people of Michigan..

Well…with today’s revelation of our AG’s suit against subsidies for people getting healthcare in the state, we can see that Bill Schuette just hates the people of Michigan…going so far as to take affordable insurance away from residents just to prove that he hates Obamacare and any program that helps people who need it. Where the hell were you before Obamacare passed, Bill? Not a peep out of you for people whose insurance was canceled, not a peep for people with pre-existing conditions that couldn’t get insurance, not a peep for people who couldn’t afford insurance….but, you roar like a lion against the basic help the the ACA provides to people who need it…just like the appeal of the equality ruling, and conspiring with the extremists at Right to Life of Michigan to take away womens access to their healthcare, ole Bill just hates the people of Michigan and solving any of their problems…just make sure they are held down and don’t have the avenue to financial security or equality….this is your repub party, hate, hate, hate…geez….

Another day…

Well…I was going to update my day since I can’t find anything that gets the old outrage flowing today…I did get a 5 mile bike ride in and I feel so decrepit with the lungs on fire and soreness everywhere…oh, well…one thing that has made me smile a little is that the Koch’s have pulled their lying ACA ads from the air across the US…it looks like the Kochroaches don’t really do too well when exposed to the sunlight of the media and truth….maybe things are finally turning..I think their brand is being tarnished by the lies, lies, and more lies they have been putting out…it’s okay for their base since they are used to being lied to and eat that crap up, but the rest of the country is starting to get tired of it…especially since over half of the political ads run so far this year…something like 30,000 of them have been against the ACA…even though people are starting to like the law…hope it continues and the Kochs just go away…wouldn’t it be nice if they’d use the money to feed the hungry or house the homeless…430 million would have done a lot of good…geez…

Part two…

Well…it has been a long day today and I haven’t had the time to get to trying to find a political topic for the day…I do find it heartening that there is real pushback to the lies by the Koch brothers about the ACA…I just don’t understand why a couple of billionaire brothers give a damn if people can get affordable insurance…what is it to them? Do they feel better when they hurt other people? Or is it that they were given everything and lived a privileged life and have bought the idea that the rich constantly push that no one else deserves anything?  Along with buying ads to try to destroy the unions and the middle class…don’t they have enough already? Why can’t they just leave the rest of us alone and stop making the country a worse place to live? I have had enough of rich people just taking, taking, and taking, and rigging the system with their money so no one else even has a chance…they should be careful…when the winds of politics change, we progressive will have long memories…how does a return to the 90% tax rates of the 50′s sound to you Kochs? Geez…

The Kochs are still lying about the ACA…

Well…living here in Michigan, you would think there is a guy or woman named ACA that is running for every office they way that the Kochs are spending money to try to defeat him/her. The latest ad that they are running has some woman with cancer that goes on to say that with Obamacare and it’s out of pocket expenses, she is going to die since she can’t afford them and her plan got canceled…all of the talking points that the Kochs are pushing to hurt people for political advantage for their right wing nutjobs.  The only problem that these ads are having is that all of them have been found to be full of lies and half truths and the media is finally calling bullshit on them….this one is no different. First, cancer is no picnic and I don’t wish this woman any more stress than she is already going through…but, by being in this ad, she  opened herself up to fact checking…something that was done well by Glenn Kessler of the Washington Post. First, yes, her non-compliant policy was canceled….but, she was able to get one for almost 700 dollars a month less than she was paying….and the bitch about how she can’t afford the 6,350 out of pocket costs in the new policy? When you net the old payments with her new ones…her actual costs are lower than they were before….and, let’s make this one more point…before the ACA, her chances to get canceled because she was sick was a very real possibility…under the ACA they can’t cancel at all. Living in Michigan, I live with the crazy right that are so frickin delusional that they will believe anything, and I think this woman was probably paid well for her part in pushing these lies….how can she live with herself? Oh, that’s right, the right has no shame…geez…
