Well….for presenting themselves as the big, tough Americans, the repubs sure like to push all fear all the time. And, here they go again with the refugees from Syria that scare repub governors so much that they are refusing to accept any more in their states…and yes, our idiot governor started this whole thing yesterday when he said he was ‘rethinking” taking in any Syrian refugees…as if they have any say in it. Immigration is a federal government function and while it would be nice to have agreement with the governors, it is not necessary…but, the big thing here is the absolute glee that repubs are showing after the Paris attacks, giving them another reason for another war with ole Mitt going so far as to say we need 50,000 troops on the ground right now…after all his investment in the MIC is not making as much money now that we are out of Iraq and heading out of Afghanistan. One thing you will not hear from these idiots is any talk of how to pay for another war, after all, they never paid for the last two and let the dem come in and do the hard work of reducing the deficit and paying the bills. I think it’s time for us to discard these fear mongers…these repubs that are afraid of their own shadows and find danger everywhere…they should be recognizing where the true danger is…a danger that has cost the lives of 280,000 Americans over the past 10 years…the crazy fetish the right has with guns and more guns everywhere….the stupidity, it burns….geez…

November 16th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done, again, the lungs are still giving me fits and that takes away a lot of energy…I did watch the Lions win even thought hey were trying to give the game away all afternoon…and, I won’t be climbing on the bandwagon for them any time soon…I know them too well after all these years…slept okay but feel a little crappy this morning and I know why that is…will be doing something about that all week….not really sore anywhere so I am going to try not taking anything before the bike ride and just see what happens….I did take a nice long one yesterday and it felt good but I’m not sure if I’ll do that again today…maybe if it gets sunny later….not much to do today…going to just do the normal routine and get back to working out in a while…want one more cup of coffee first…more later…
No Paris today…
Well…I was going to do one on the tragedy in Paris but what more can I say than it is one of the most evil things I have ever seen..and I’ve been around for a long time…one of the reactions that I see as a continuation of the fear based decision making of the repubs is that old Snyder has stopped the work being done for Michigan to take in some of these refugees….never mind that only one of the killers in Paris were from the refugee diaspora…that doesn’t matter to the repubs who are just scared shitless of everything…there was a good article out on Kos today that looks at the psychology of conservatives and it is not a pretty picture…worth reading, but not pretty….and with the repub candidates, you can see their bias showing through when ole Jeb! said that we should only help christian refugees….as if that would be any easier to prove than not being a terrorist….still shaking my head at all of this and I will expand on that tomorrow…but, right now…I am just going to get more ice water and watch some racing….
November 15th
Well…running late this morning since I didn’t get up until late….late for me that is…slept all the way til 7….but, I did sleep okay so that is something….didn’t get anything done but the bike ride and today looks much the same…it is already almost 50 so I can get out on the bike as soon as this one is done….my lungs were getting better yesterday but this morning I’m not sure…have been coughing again but not as bad as yesterday so I guess that’s progress…and I’m not sore anywhere today so that is weird…but, I took ibuprofen anyway to make sure the bike ride doesn’t make me sore…I was going to come back yesterday to do one on Paris but I am having problems making sense of that pure evil…maybe later today…not much to do today…bike ride now so I can see the F1 race at 10:30 and maybe some cleaning…but, I say that every day so maybe not…more later…
November 14th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get anything done…have been coughing like crazy and it is taking a lot out of me…but, it seems to be a little better this morning so maybe there is hope that it will continue to get better…slept okay last night and feel okay this morning…still have the back hanging up and I need to crack it before I get on the bike….looks like I will need to wait a while since it is only 32 out and I really don’t want to get that cold….it looks like a nice day for a ride with the wind almost calm and no clouds in the sky so maybe I can get out when it’s around 42…..not much to do today…I may clean a little if I feel better and I do need to come back here to do one on the crap that went on in Paris yesterday….more later…
Have been trying to remember…
Well…at pool on wed, Tom and I were trying to remember the name of the people who owned a gas station/bait shop that used to be right next to the bar where we shoot…and, I think I have it…Gilmore’s….pretty sure that’s what it was…I do remember the gas brand was a strange one…White Rose Gas…so maybe that’s it…I can remember pulling in there and getting about 8 gallons of gas for two bucks….and that was before self serve….
I guess there are no rules for the right…
Well….if you have been following politics for a long time as I have, you will no doubt remember the rule that the repubs used to have..”never speak ill of another repub”….looking at what is going on now, that rule has been shredded and dumped down the sewer. You only have to look at the spat between ole Donald and Ben Carson when the Donald compared ole Ben to a child molester to start and then trotted out some tried and true racist dog whistles to go after him since he is rising in the polls. Then ole Ben shot back with the comment that “he is terribly sad for Donald” and it is bad to see him “implode before our eyes”….now, I can see the ads that are going to be run if either of these idiots gets nominated and it won’t be pretty since they will use the words of other repubs to attack the nominee and the dems won’t even have to write anything. Contrast that to the deep policy discussions that are going on on our side….now, I am not naive enough to think that no one on our side will go negative…after all, negativity works in some instances and we do want to win…I am laughing at the lack of discipline on the right when they have lived by staying on the talking point message so well over the past few years…just hope they keep it up….
November 13th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I got a lot done but paid for it…have been eating antihistamines like candy and still feel like crap…slept okay last night and feel okay today but I am grumpy since I can’t ride again today…the wind is just too damn high to go out and get any flow going…I am going to try to get out this aft if the winds go down since I do need the exercise….I do need to take some ibuprofen again since everything hurts again and I think it is from standing so long and using new muscles yesterday…but, today I really don’t have anything to do so I think I may make this a veg day and just watch some sports…I think my chopstick fix of the leak in the car is working since it didn’t leak at all yesterday with all the rain and running errands…..not much to do today….going to just have coffee and take it easy for a little while and then get on the weight machine for a hour but that will be about it…things have gotten back to normal around here and I think I just want to enjoy that for a while….more later…
Two more for the B-3 count…
Well…just finished up the work that I had to do today…it took longer than I expected….but, were back to the Hammond B-3 count and just saw two more groups that use the B-3..Umphree’s McGee and The String Cheese Incident were on AXS tv doing concerts today and both had a B-3 on stage….so let’s add two more groups and keep the count going….can’t remember if I put Buddy Guy in the count yet but if I haven’t, he needs to go in, too….
November 12th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool so that was cool…and they came and finished my bathroom ceiling so that makes things easier in the morning….it was so nice that I had the top down in short sleeves on the way out and back but today is just ugly out there and it looks like no bike ride today…I have a lot of work to do around here so that works out pretty well…have had cramps in my right big toe for a couple of days now and that is kind of weird…I think I’m clenching it on the bike and will have to remember to relax when I go out…it is nice to have everything back to normal around here and it will be a relaxing day today…I hope….still need to take some ibuprofen this morning since my forearms are sore for some reason and it will probably help my back, too…not much to do today…just work around here, laundry and cleaning…and I need to finish off the leftovers so I can cook again…more later…
Oh, one last thing, happy birthday to Neil Young…70 frickin years old today…wow….
