Well…another day yesterday and there really isn’t much to say about it….didn’t ride the bike with the rain and high winds but I needed a day off anyway so I don’t really feel guilty about it…tried to be good last night with some success so I’ll feel okay to work on the car today….I do need to get the salmon drying after being in the brine for two days so it won’t be wet when it goes in the smoker….so, I better get at it so I can get out to coffee…more later…

They’re starting to get desperate….
Well…it has been another day of not doing much but I have been thinking about a few things so I thought I’d get them down and see if they make any sense…first, I laughed my butt off when ole Rick Santorum was touring, supposedly to support Romney, and went off about Obama gutting the first amendment since he wants Catholic organizations to cover birth control…what an old attack line and I don’t know where this is going to get them…so, if the Catholics or any other religious organization want to discriminate for any reason, it would be okay according to ole Rick….so if they didn’t want to hire minorities, they would be protected? Just more nonsense from the right and their idea that there should be allowed priveleged classes that the law doesn’t apply to…I think it’s even what their whole party is based on…
Oh, I guess I should get to the title…with the Ryan selection and the fact that the polls continue to show that ole Mitt is losing ground, it looks like ole Paul’s radicalism is only serving to fire up the base….and those folks were never going to vote for Obama anyway….and now we have McCain coming out attacking Joe Biden for being Joe…it appears that these folks are flailing around trying to find anything that will work….and the tone deaf Romney campaign is trotting ole Mitt’s wife back out to defend not releasing any more tax returns…but even funnier is the fact that Mitt is proud of the fact that he paid 13% in taxes and thinks it is just fine that he takes advantage of laws that were bought by people like him so they don’t have to pay their fair share…what a bunch of idiots…geez…

Well… running late again today and I think I’ve figured it out…it’s the new phone…since I can get everything from the internet on it, I never even fire the computer up much anymore…but, I’ll try to do better…it was a normal day yesterday and I did get some small things done…I did get the salmon in the brines for Friday and I may have done a little too much with using both of them…but, has anyone ever complained they have too much smoked salmon? It can be frozen so that will take care of it…I do also have to do a small grocery run today and since Tom bought some Win Schulers, I have to have some too…more later…

Well…I have been sitting here thinking about what to write about today and nothing has really jumped out at me so I’ll just noodle around a little and see what happens….I find it funny that ole Mitt is crying foul about some of the attack ads run by Obama so far in this election cycle….this from a party that has spent the last 4 years sabotaging him at every juncture? Whose primary purpose stated by their leaders is not to help the country get moving again, it’s not to help pass a farm or jobs bill, but it is to make sure that Obama fails by any means necessary. When you look at the actual work product that this congress has completed, it is the worst of any congress in history…they did have time to try to repeal the ACA 33 times, but nothing else other than the nonsense of protecting the rich and and corporations from paying their fair share….so, when you hear ole Mitt complaining about the negative ads, take the whole thing with a grain of salt, after all, the repubs started it…geez….

Well…it looks like I missed the life update yesterday and I can’t figure out how…so, I’ll have to do two of them today…it was a pretty good day yesterday…I won at pool but was not good when I got home so I am running late and feeling crappy today…Brian, who works here, just dropped of a bunch more salmon and his recipes for the brines you need for smoking…it will be fun to do that Friday when I replace the wheel bearing out at Tom’s….okay, need to get going and take a shower so I’ll stop here….more later….
Let’s stop this “visionary” nonsense…
Well…just a short one about the plaudits that have come in for ole Ryan after his nomination…first, let’s look at the effect of his budget plan…and I am going to be blunt…to follow his plan…that won’t balance the budget until I’m long dead…in the 2040′s….we will need to cut 91% of all spending that is not military…yep, you heard it…91% of all government spending on everything that makes a government and a society, schools, safety nets, unemployment insurance, job training,….you get the idea…his vision is that the US will be a military with a little bit of government thrown in….and, to top it off…ole Mitt will pay less than 1% in taxes on his income…while you and I will continue to pay 30%….it you think this is the path this country should take…vote for these guys..if you do, you are all idiots…geez…yep, I said idiots…please comment…I’m waiting for it…
A few things…
Well…I wonder what the reason was that ole Mitt picked the idiot Ryan to be his VP? It appears that he did it to solidify the base behind him since those on the right never really warmed to Mitt…but I just can’t see where Ryan will appeal to anyone but the base…remember this is the guy who holds Ayn Rand in such high regard and espouses that her ideas of radical individualism are what he believes in…that there is no role for government to play and that people should live or die on their own efforts with no safety net to ensure that the elderly and children don’t starve if they have the bad luck to not be connected to the old boys network. Remember this, too, for a guy that hates government so much, he has spent his entire adult life in government…getting the pay raises and gold plated healthcare that he feels that no one else deserves…but that is the pattern of the repubs…play to the crazy right by hating government and then using government to enrich themselves at the cost to the rest of the country. One last thing, I’ve read stories that ole Ryan is an “intellectual” and one of the big thinkers on the right….but, to me, it doesn’t take a big thinker to cut, cut, cut, when it’s not coming out of your pocket…geez…

Well…I am kind of glad that the Olympics ended yesterday…I was getting really tired of watching them but felt somewhat obligated since they are only every 4 years…so, it was a wasted day yesterday and I didn’t do much…today looks to be mostly the same but I do have some errands to run…can’t get motivated right now, though, so I think I’ll try to get in the shower and get out to read the papers and have some coffee…more later…
Mitt’s just a hypocrite…
Well…this is going to be a short one about an article that I read this morning that makes ole Mitt not just a liar but a hypocrite as well…I’m sure you’ve heard of the controversy over ole Mitt not releasing his tax returns…or only one year…but today, we find out that in vetting his vp picks, he asked for multiple years of theirs…so, the American people don’t need to see ole Mitt’s returns but he needs to see the vp picks? What a hypocrite….but I still want to thank him for picking Paul Ryan and making this election a choice for the future….the gift that just keeps on giving…

Well…running really late today since I decided to get out on the bike first…and it was a good idea…I’m feeling so much better after sweating out the toxins…it was another bore of a day yesterday with nothing but races and Olympics and I am getting really tired of it…but, what can you do? I did see a kite eating tree up in the park today that made me laugh but there was little else on the trail of note so I won’t note it….and, on that note, I am going to read the online papers and have my last cup of coffee…more later…
