Well…it’s been a pretty busy day today and I got a lot done so that’s cool…started the day out with the first bike ride, then jumped in the car to run out and get a new key made at Ace and it only cost three bucks…then jumped across the street to Hardings and picked up 5 pounds of catfish for 5 bucks, then stopped at the cop shop to get my beach stickers then back here to get on the bike for the second ride…then lunch and made some Cajun rub for the catfish for dinner and that came out good…I like catfish much better than Tilapia and at 99 cents a pound it’s the cheapest fish I’ve seen in many years…I may even go out and see if I can get more tomorrow to fill my freezer…I cleaned them out today but they should have more in the freezer somewhere…and I do have to do the grocery run tomorrow since a huge storm is coming in Wed afternoon through Thurs that is going to dump more than a foot of snow on us…and with the wind out here, I’ll be shoveling drifts again…crap…

That’s my president…
Well…just wanted to do a shorty on Joe Biden’s surprise visit to Ukraine today…man, I’ll bet putin is just steaming about it and the visuals of he standing with the Ukrainian president in front of a castle in Kyiv while air raid sirens blared in the background is exactly the kind of dignity and support that Joe has brought to the presidency…and his pledge to always stand with Ukraine should show putin that his invasion is doomed especially since it was revealed today that Ukraine is getting F-16′s soon along with 500 modern tanks that will chew through any armor that Russia still has left….can you imagine the idiot trump doing anything like that? Nope? Yeah, I can’t either…all I have to say is that’s my president…
It’s Reagan’s fault…
Well…when you look back to where the downward slide of this country started, you only have to look as far as ole ronnie reagan and his dishonest administration…and letting him get away with Iran/Contra when he admitted he broke the law, set the stage for the idiot trump not being prosecuted for his crimes while in office. The whole bullshit of tax cuts for the rich “trickling down” to the rest of us and paying for themselves came from ole ronnie and his cronies, and no matter how many times it has been proven to not work, tax cuts are still the number one policy of the current repubs…but they don’t even give a reason anymore…they know who gets them into office and they need to pay back the rich for those contributions…and ole ronnie started the nasty, lying election advertising, too, and removed the fcc prohibitions against it and killed the equal time rule that leveled the playing field by forcing the media to give opposing views free air time to rebut the lies the repubs always use….so you really can trace all of political problems we see back to saint ronnie and it makes you see why they revere him so much…geez…
February 20th
Well…slept through the night last night for the first time in a while and got out of bed at 6:01…still feel like I haven’t slept in weeks so I need to ease into this one….not too sore today with taking the day off the bike yesterday but I do need to do two rides today but I am getting tired of the indoor bike….but it looks like I won’t be able to get outside this week with the big storm that is coming in Wed…8 inches more snow along with ice and wind so I need to get the grocery run in tomorrow and then go into hibernation mode for the rest of the week…I do need to run an errand today to the north end to get a key made for the car and then get some catfish at Hardings for 99 cents a pound…if they have it…they are not too reliable and I’ve been in there a few times and they didn’t have what was advertised…I may even go to the cop shop to get my beach parking pass but that can be done anytime before April so I may not…I do have to call the dentist this morning to get my prescriptions for the work on Monday…this week looks like an easy one until the health work starts next Monday and continues through March so it will be a trying time….not much to do today…just going to ease into it and have more coffee for a bit but I do need to get on the bike before I do the errands and then back on it after I get back here so it will be a busy morning…I sure hope I can get some fish today…haven’t had any in a long time since it’s so expensive….more later…
No politics today…
Well…as is pretty normal for a Sunday, I haven’t come up with a political topic yet so I probably won’t get to one today…it’s been a lazy one today and I have done nothing but go out an get the paper and read it…I did talk to my daughter and she has set up transportation for my periodontist appointments so I don’t have to think about that this week…and she did all that from Maryland where she lives….still on the calorie restriction diet I’ve been doing for weeks now and had a chicken thigh, half a baked potato, and some corn with a glass of milk for about 450 calories and that will be it for the day….I think I’ll keep that up until I can get back to two rides outdoors since I have some weight to lose…will do two rides indoors tomorrow unless it warms up and there is no wind…then I’ll go outside…but right now the Daytona 500 is going to start so I’ll end here…
February 19th
Well…damn, you could almost set a clock to my wake up time over the past few days…up at 5:04 again this morning but laid in bed til 6:43….might have slept a bit in that time but had no dreams so it doesn’t count….I think I’m going to have to eat more today since I feel so worn out this morning and I’m running on fat reserves that my body has a hard time using…not going to get on the bike before Man U plays at 9…or maybe I will…not sure right now since it’s only 7:30 I could get on by 8 an still do the ride and get a shower in before 9 but don’t I deserve a day off? Leaning toward that with how I feel right now…but, I’ve got the whole day so I may feel more like it later….didn’t get a lot done yesterday other than ride the bike and today looks the same…I do have to cook today so I’m going to do some chicken thighs, baked potato, and some green beans and still try to keep my calories around 500….a thigh is 150, half a baked potato is about 100 and the beans are also a hundred and with a glass of milk, that will make it about 450 calories…then I can have an orange this afternoon for about another 100 and I can live with that…I did buy some new spices that I want to try on the chicken so that will be fun…not much to do today…I do need to ease into it and have more coffee as I wait for Man U to start at 9….more later…
Jimmy Carter is what a real Christian looks like…
Well…with the news this afternoon that Jimmy Carter went home from the hospital and is entering hospice care today, I just wanted to do a short one about his life…now you know I am an atheist who doesn’t hate religion…I hate the things people do in the name of religion…but if you want to see what a real Christian looks like, just look at the life of President Carter…while in office he never attacked anyone, never said anything bad about anything, brokered peace in the Mideast and tried his best to guide the country but had the unfortunate luck of 14% inflation and a repub party who had begun the slide into lies and slander…and with Carter being an honorable person, he couldn’t use those tactics and lost the election to Reagan who put the country on the path to where we are now…after he left office he threw himself along with Rosalyn into doing good works around the world and made Habitat for Humanity the force that it is today….that is what I remember of christians from when I was young…they really did do good work and stayed out of politics and hate….I know that maybe a little bit of wearing rose colored glasses but the christians I knew weren’t nazis like many of them are now…so, maybe this would be a good time for some of those folks to reflect on their actions and re-discover the true meaning of the god they purport to follow…
What the hell is wrong with the NYT?
Well…after this week and reading about the attacks on trans people by the NYT, my question is “what the hell is wrong with the NYT?” All week, they have been trying to justify their support of JK Rowling who wrote the Harry Potter books and her well known transphobia…and it has gotten so bad that hundreds of well known people have written letters to the Times asking what the hell? Who is calling the shots at the times who supports attacking an already besieged minority? All across the country, repubs are passing laws actually trying to outlaw trans people’s just living…outlawing the medical care that they need to survive and why is the Times piling on to that bullshit? Look, this same playbook was used to attack gay and lesbian people in the 60′s and 70′s but no one remembers history anymore so they are doomed to repeat it…what benefit do these attacks have for the Times? They’re never going to get the right wing assholes to subscribe to the paper so why attack just like the asshole repubs? I just don’t get it…a once objective paper now seems populated by fox news wannabes who just want to spread their hate…it’s a long way for the Times to fall…geez…
February 18th
Well…okay, got to 5:14 this morning but stayed in bed until 7:23 and that is getting to be the pattern…well…not yesterday…I think getting up before 6 yesterday set me up for sleeping more today…still feel worn out but part of that is staying under 500 calories yesterday but I don’t think I can hit that goal today since I have some chicken thighs that need to be cooked…one thigh and half a potato with some green beans is going to put me at about 500 before I have an orange this afternoon…so today will be a 600 calorie day…didn’t have a good day yesterday with obsessing about the missing keys and wallowing in the resulting depression but today will be better…it has to be…not sure if I’m going to do two rides today…I may just wing it and see what happens….lots of sports on today with soccer right now and the truck race on at 10:30 so I need to get a ride done before then…and that gives me about an hour before I need to get on the bike….and there are two races on this afternoon that I want to see from Daytona so I’ll need to get the second bike ride in right after the truck race at 12:30….not much to do today….just the races and to try to find a topic in politics for a change….more later…
Ohio, you deserve better…
Well with the huge environmental disaster caused by the train derailment in Ohio a week ago, Joe Biden has offered federal help to Ohio to help cope…and guess what the governor’s response was? This asshole DeWine wouldn’t take Joe’s call just because he’s a maga idiot who would love to poison his people to score political points and try to make himself look tough…so, people of Ohio, your governor doesn’t give a shit about you…and this poisoning of a quarter of Ohio is the largest environmental disaster in my lifetime…and I’m older than hell….and to top this off, the reason that train derailed is that the idiot trump and his business cronies who run the railroads got an Obama era regulation removed because it was going to cost the railroads to retrofit the train cars….so this completely avoidable tragedy was all the result of repub governance and it is just a little taste of what will continue to happen to you, Ohio, if you keep electing these asshole…geez…
