Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I woke up feeling like crap today and I’m not sure why…so, this one is going to be short since I can’t really think too well right now and it is all I can do to just sit upright in a chair….slept okay but no dreams to speak of and my lower tooth is killing me…just feel so damn decrepit today like everything is falling apart and I don’t like it….and my lungs are bad again today and that doesn’t make it easier….not much to do today..pool and then back here to rest and relax….and I will come back to add to this one in a while after I get the energy level up….
Here’s the sick thing with ACA repeal…
Well….not sure if you’ve been following the King v. Burwell case that is in front of the supreme court…you know, the onethat the repubs think will undo the ACA because of 5 words that they want to interpret that healthcare subsidies are only available to those on state run exchanges even though every lawmaker that worked on the law says is not the correct interpretation…they intended that all people on the exchanges, both federal and state would get subsidies for their healthcare costs. Here’s the sick thing about this whole case…if the repubs are successful in gutting the law, the fallout will be on people who live in repub dominated states who petulantly refused to set up state exchanges just because they hate Obama and don’t give a damn about anyone but the rich…and the real irony is that most of the people who will no longer be able to afford insurance will be the ones that elected the repubs….I would say they get what they deserve but no one deserves to be without health insurance…and I should know…I have been without it for 13 years now and not a day goes by that I don’t think about what could happen if I get sick…will have no choice but to pull the plug and just die….something the repubs think is how healthcare should work….and I hate them for it…
January 29th
Well….it was an okay day yesterday and the car finally thawed so I could get the door locks open but it looks like more ice this morning…going to need to thaw the car so I can do the grocery run in a few minutes…slept okay and had dreams about a 77 Chrysler that I owned a few years back and that was weird…and there was lots of snow…so much, in fact, that the car was buried…the one thing I noticed was how quiet the car was in comparison the Miata….yep, even in my dreams the Miata is a loud car….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I did get a bike ride in an now I am waiting for the pain to kick in from that….may even be able to get back on it today after the ice thaws….not much to do today…need to continue cleaning after getting much of the summer clothes finally put away….and the grocery run since I am out of food…more later…..
Back on the bike….
Well…as I was just hanging out here today, I looked outside and it looked kind of inviting so I suited up and got back on the bike for the first time this year…the trails are still snow covered but the complex here is clear of snow and if I take the outside roads it is about 1.2 miles around…so, I did 5 laps today and got about 6 miles in…but, yow, my lungs are really screwed up…have been coughing since I got back here but maybe that’s a good thing…cleaning all of the crap out of them that you just can’t get to without working them some….I don’t remember if that’s what happens every time I restart after being off the bike for a time but it seems familiar….but, it looks like today will be the only day for a while but I’ll take the little things….
Ball gate…
Well…I’m not sure if you’ve been following the whole nonsense with the under inflated balls that were used in the championship game a couple of weeks ago but I just can’t believe how big of a deal this has become…especially since the Patriots won by more than 30 points…2 pounds of air give that much of an advantage? Never in a million years…this just goes back to every sport since sport was invented…people cheat, one of the best lines I ever heard on this subject was said by Junior Johnson about NASCAR racing many years ago…”if you’re not cheatin’, you’re not tryin”…..not that I condone cheating but 2 pounds of air? Seems to be sour grapes by the team that lost…and lost by a humiliating margin….maybe they should play better…this is what the whiners do…make excuses….and tear down the super bowl that they are supposed to revere so much….not that I give a damn about a bunch of guys making millions to play a kids game….maybe they should stop complaining or go really work for a living….geez…
January 28th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I even got a few things done…even washed the car but forgot the WD for the locks so the driver’s door wouldn’t open this morning…or, I should say wouldn’t unlock…had to go in through the passenger’s side but the car is so small that it is no big deal….it should thaw with it getting to 35 or so today…at least I hope it does….slept crappy as always and the stupid wheezing that I have in my lungs annoyed the heck out of me as I tried to sleep…so, another night of about 3 hours of sleep but I don’t feel that bad this morning…seem to have some energy and I am going to enjoy that while it lasts…part of that is I have had no pain in the tooth for two days now and I am going to enjoy that, too….I did get a few errands run to charge the battery up in the car and it started great this morning so I guess that will be the plan every day that it is going to be cold…not much to do today…going to clean some and get a workout in but not much more than that…have been thinking about getting the childhood book going before my memories go so that might be part of the plan…more later….
Pravda of Indiana…..
Well…reading the news today was a little boring until I came upon this little nugget of weirdness out of Indiana…the governor there has decided to create his own “state run media” so that small newspapers there will be able to get the “news” from the government without sending poor reporters to do that job….it’s goal, stated by the governor is to create pre-packaged “news” stories about what’s happening in the government and to break “news” exclusively on this new website/press release machine without having to have all that messy interaction with the media. I wonder if these idiots have ever read history or anything about the constitution and a “free press”? This whole thing seems to be modeled on the Soviet Union’s “state run” media which was basically the propaganda arm of the state…even more so than fox news is for the repubs on a national level. So, they can’t afford to fix their schools, or their roads, of feed their poor, but they have plenty of cash to pay a bunch of “journalists” to create propaganda that will no doubt say how wonderful things are in Indiana and how great the governor is and how terrible the “libruls” are….I cringe at the tone deafness and stupidity of these folks…geez…

Boehner is still an idiot….
Well…I thought I’d seen the low that the repubs could sink to and then ole Boehner goes even lower…in case you haven’t heard, the repubs have now started to meddle in foreign policy by inviting Bibi Netenyanhu to speak in front of the House next month to try to undermine the nuclear negotiations that are underway with Iran. Nevermind that ole John has come out today and petulantly said “I have the right to do it”…this kind of crap has never been done before in the history of the country…and even Fox news has said that it is bad form and has savaged ole Boehner for this bone head move…and there is no secret whey he is doing it…the right in this country are really pissed with the results that Obama has been getting with negotiations when all the repubs want to do is start another war with Iran to reward their military suppliers with more no contract profits and to “show up” Obama…even to the point of committing treason or maybe “treason lite” to do it…there is no end to the things these idiots will do to hurt this country just to score political points….how much more anti American can you get? Geez…
January 27th
Well…running a little early today and it is because I’ve been up since 5 or so with a really, really crappy night of sleep…worst one in quite a while and I’m not sure why but I guess that doesn’t matter….it was an okay day yesterday and I got a little bit done so that was cool….the Miata gave me a little cough starting this morning so I think I may have to take it out for a drive today…it has been since Saturday since I ran it at all and the battery needs to be charged but I’m not sure if I have any errands to run that would help that….still have the lung junk going on and it is starting to concern me…with the breathing problems from Saturday and now this lingering cough, I am hoping that it is not something serious…if it is, I’m screwed since I can’t afford to be sick…..not much to do today….going to clean some and then get outside for a walk or something just to get some exercise in….feeling like a slug and need to do something…more later….
The first domino falls….
Well….I’m not sure if you’ve been following the events in Greece lately but I have an find them to be really, really interesting. what has happened in the election held over the weekend is that the conservative government has been thrown out to be replaced by a progressive one that has promised a wholesale change in how the country is run, starting with reversing the austerity that was forced on them by the EU and which is responsible for the Greek economy shrinking by more than 25% in the past year. But, the biggest target of this new administration is to get rid of the crony capitalism that has allowed the rich to not pay any taxes since before world war two and to operate to government for the benefit of all Greeks, not just those who have connections, money, or power. The people of Greece are just fed up with their 1% stealing everything and leaving nothing but crumbs for the rest of the country. Sound familiar? That’s why the title….if one country can make such a radical change, why can’t we? The same type of nonsense is happening here in the US with the rich taking all of the gains in the economy that have happened for the past 40 years and rigging the game so they will continue to take it all….I just hope that Greece was the first domino to fall to be followed by many more….the world needs to change…I just hope it happens in my lifetime….geez…
