Well….after seeing the videos from the doctors, nurses, and other hospital workers on tv and their heart wrenching pleas for help and their deep, deep fear that they too will die from the virus…the thing that hits me like a gut punch is the question of who is going to help with the hidden damage that this work is causing to these people? Every damn one of them who survives is going to have the debilitating affects of PTSD that will always be with them…who is going to take care of them and help them? As a society that operates on the profit motive in healthcare, there is no mechanism, no program, no money that is available to mitigate this hidden disaster…and who is going to replace these people who have given everything to protect their fellow human beings? I don’t even hear any discussion on this terrible human toll…just the same old bullshit on how to “open” the economy and how to give money to corporations that don’t need it…and once the pandemic subsides will we go back to the same old crap where hospitals close and doctors and nurses are expected to take pay cuts to protect the profit of the corporations who see healthcare as just another profit center? Who are we as a country if we allow this to happen? This is our chance to make this a better country as the virus exposes the rotten foundations that have been patched with cheap plaster for so long…we just need the will to do it…but I don’t hold out much hope that will happen…and that makes me sick.

The real “death panels”
Well….I wonder if everyone has as short a memory as the repubs think we do…I sure remember the lies when the ACA was being worked on with the repubs shouting every damn day that there were things called “death panels” that would condemn the old folks in this country to death after they reached a certain age or started to need more care…all of it a blatant lie to scare people into hating the bill…but that didn’t happen and the ACA is more popular than ever, especially in these pandemic days. But just yesterday, and I think I mentioned this a little, the new repub trial balloon that is being floated is that we are going to have to sacrifice older people to the virus to get the economy going again by removing the measures that are in place across the country to keep people isolated and prevent the virus spread…the idiot trump started it the other day when he said that he will “open” the economy in 15 days if the damage that closures are doing too much for the economy…and one of trump’s parrots, Lt gov Dan Patrick of Texas (of course) said that killing hundreds of thousands of seniors could be “worth it” if it got the economy going again…asking what kind of country would be left for his grandkids if we wait until the virus is controlled…yep, the “pro-life” party is just perfectly fine killing lots of seniors if his rich buddies need to steal even more money from the rest of us and they can’t do it when the economy is shut down. We know one of the reasons the idiot boy trump wants the economy going again no matter the cost is that it is costing him money with his hotels shut down….and nothing else matters except him and the world’s effect on him….the one thing that idiot boy doesn’t understand that he didn’t do anything to “close down” the states that are trying to stop the spread of the virus by isolation so there isn’t a damn thing he can do to “open” them…do you think Cuomo or Whitmer are going to listen to anything that the big orange moron says? They are going to do what the science says, what the experts say to protect the people and not corporations….so bloviate as much as you want moron, we in Michigan are going to do what’s right for us and you can just go right to hell….

Well…it appears that you are going to get a bunch of these every day since I have time on my hands as I wait for the weather to get better so I can start on the outside of the house…have been seeing stories about conservatives who are getting the virus and appearing to change their ways from the selfish, conspiracy theory morons that they have been for decades…yeah, I don’t believe a bit of it…it’s all wishful thinking on the part of the media that they have the capacity to be compassionate human beings and to put aside their hate if even for a little while….after all, 95% of repubs think the idiot trump is going a “great” job of handling this crisis and how can you square that with the facts on the ground that his 6 week delay on doing anything and his lying press conferences are getting people killed as we speak? This whole thing is just the typical conservative’s behavior to hate people and programs that enhance the public good until they personally are affected by a crisis and then it’s a miracle….and they make a big show of “changing” until the spotlight is off them and then they just go back to their anti science, hate filled lives…so, media, spare me the “foxhole conversion” stories about conservatives…they are and will always be terrible people and no virus is going to change that…
Yow! Dow down 3,000 points today…
Well…with the incompetent “stable genius” in the WH and his flailing on every damn thing, financial traders and investors have voted their vote of no confidence in the idiot trump and his minions by a bloodbath in the stock market today…never seen in history, the Dow lost 3,000 points today…a 13% drop in just one day…to put this in perspective, I’ll use the example I’ve used before…if you had 100K in your 401K this morning, you now only have 87 thousand…and since Feb 12 if you started with that same 100K, you have about 65 thousand of it left and tomorrow could be even worse…how do you feel now, trump voters? What the hell could make you not support this country destroying murderer? Losing everything? Oh, I get it…it’s Obama’s fault for letting the stock market get so high on his watch and tricking you into thinking you were doing well…and this was a long term plan, just like his fake birth certificate….who would ever think that electing a stupid game show host would cause any problems? As with what he said about the coronavirus just today to the governors of this country..”you are on your own”… he takes no responsibility for anything and never has in his entire life….so I guess we ARE on our own…hey idiot boy, why not make it official and just resign already…every damn time you open your mouth you do more and more damage….and you’ve only got 8 months left anyway…
It’s going to get real…
Well…I guess today is the day that shit is going to get real here in Michigan with the coronavirus…last week, our governor took the necessary step of closing down all of our K-12 schools and universities and colleges did the same…but this morning, if the reports are correct, governor Whitmer is going to issue an order closing all bars and restaurants except for take outs since there are enough idiots our there who are stupid or repubs, or both who are not taking this disease seriously and are still going out and packing themselves in these crowded spaces when it is clear that this lack of personal space is what fuels transmission. To show how stupid the repubs really are, just yesterday we had the idiot Devin Nunes going on tv telling people to go out to restaurants and bars because it will be easy to get a reservation and the repub governor of Oklahoma posting photos of he and his family mugging it up at a crowded restaurant while dismissing the severity of this outbreak. Now, maybe this will spur the natural selection that we need to rid ourselves of such stupidity but I don’t wish any disease on anyone….I am pissed because these idiots could infect me or any one of my brothers or sisters who are all over 60…and two who are pushing 80 and the death rate for people that age is pushing 20%…maybe they’ll stop being stupid when grandma dies…but, probably not….what morons….
Ten percent more gone…
Well….just finished up doing my last grocery run for a month and took a look at the dow averages…yow, down another 10% this morning or about 2300 points which took back all the gains that the idiot trump was crowing about last week…and these losses show that traders have lost confidence that idiot boy and his minions know what the hell they are doing…and this was after the fed just cut interest rates to zero and pumped 1.5 trillion…yep, with a T, into the banking system to maintain liquidity….now, I am not a great believer that the Dow is a gauge of the health of the economy, but it is an indicator of the carnage that is going to happen because trump and his cronies fiddled while the cornonavirus got a foothold here and is now exploding across the country…and it has been left to governors and mayors to do make the hard decisions as trump crows ‘I’m not responsible” for the lack of testing and information about the spread of the virus….information that is vital to keeping the virus from killing thousands here. To emphasize the depravity of trump and his minions, you just have to look at the news reports from Reuters that detailed trump’s efforts to buy a German company that is working on a vaccine…and the big stipulation that trump put on the transaction is that the vaccine would be exclusively for use in the US….yep, as normal, trump is saying “go to hell” to the rest of the world in the midst of this crisis an showing that he really is “the worst person in the world” to steal a phrase from Keith O. I wonder how long it will take to fumigate the stench from the WH and get our allies to trust us again? I guess we’ll find out in November….
The only words I want to hear from the idiot trump…
Well…it appears that the idiot in chief is going to speak again today about the virus that is on pace to devestate this country…wasn’t one worst day in the history of the stock market enough for him? Every damn time this moron opens his mouth something bad happens…and he continues to lie and lie and lie about the measures that are being taken to at least find out the scope of the problem…and new reporting this morning has trump actively preventing testing from happening because the numbers would make him “look bad” and the only thing he has ever thought about in his entire life was him. Think about that for a minute…this asshole is going to kill thousands of people just because he didn’t want his fee fees or election chances hurt by truthful reporting that there were more than the “12 to 15″ cases of coronavirus that idiot boy has been lying about since the start of this crisis…hey trump voters, what are you going to think when grandma gets sick from this preventable virus just because your cult leader didn’t want to look bad? Yeah, they will think that it’s Obama’s fault because something, something….scary black guy. Look, the only words that I want to hear coming out of the idiot in chief’s mouth today is “I resign, effective immediately”….since he is worse than useless and is actively making things worse for his own personal gain…hey senate repubs…you are all responsible for this for letting his criminal ass off with your votes in the senate…and we are going to make you pay in November…
How terrible are the repubs?
Well…sitting here watching Man U play in Austria in an empty stadium and it is really weird that there is just the noise of the players and coaches…but that’s not what this is about…did you see the debacle of a speech that the idiot trump did last night? I sure didn’t but I read enough about it to know it was the worst speech in presidential history….and the financial markets thought that, too with the dow futures market falling over a thousand points while the speech was going on…and that carnage continued this morning with the dow circuit breakers kicking in and suspending trading about 10 minutes after the market opened and losses hit 8%…it continued to fall until it was down almost 2,500 points and has recovered a bit but it is still down by 1,800 points at 2 pm this afternoon…and you know about that “greatest of all time” stock market that the blowhard in chief has been crowing about? It has lost all of the gains since the idiot boy was installed by Putin…down almost 8,000 points just since Feb 12th…and what did the repubs in the senate do with this carnage and the potential death of hundreds of thousands of American lives? Moscow mitch scheduled a recess that they were supposed to leave on today but the public outcry shamed them into staying in Washington to work on the bills necessary to fund the coronavirus response…and here’s the really terrible part…they are so ideology driven that they just can’t help but try to put abortion restrictions into the bill that they know will be DOA in the House but they don’t care…they are fine with wasting time and killing real people so they can impose more restrictions on women’s lives…these assholes are going to be know as the murderers of millions if they keep playing their games…that is how terrible the repubs are…
It did get ugly…
Well…as I wrote about this morning, it did get ugly today with the stock market down almost 2500 points about an hour ago but it has rebounded to being down “only” 1700 points with a half hour to go until close…and with the idiot in chief’s happy talk response to the coronavirus crumbling as his brain (what little of it there is) does the same…with reports that idiot boy is ranting around the WH that he doesn’t have anyone left to protect him from the media and that someone should be doing something to make him look better….but that ranting has taken a really dark turn with trump convinced that members of the media are intentionally going to infect themselves so they can give the virus to trump on AF 1…yep, he actually believes that…and he has tasked the Secret Service to set up barricades around the WH to check everyone coming in and out to make sure they are not coughing….even though the NIH has said that this is going to be one of the worst allergy seasons in years…and guess what allergies do…they make you cough just like I am now…hey repubs, is it 25th amendment time yet? Folks, trump’s delusions are going to get worse and worse as he finally realizes that he is going to be out of office in the fall and then will have no protection against criminal charges from the crimes he has committed while in office….eat another burger, donnie…that will help keep the virus away…
It’s going to get ugly today…
Well…as the moron in the WH fiddles, there is a convergence of problems that are going to slap idiot boy upside the head this morning…if the coronavirus response bungling wasn’t enough, we now have oil prices that are in free fall along with a major meltdown in the stock market that is going to hit when the markets open this morning. After the rout in oil prices started Friday with a 10% drop across the board, Saudi Arabia has decided to destroy Russia since they wouldn’t go along with supply cuts necessary to support the price with demand crashing…so with the Saudis opening the taps in the face of falling demand, oil is set to drop by 20-25% today which will surely destroy many shale producers here in the US since they were barely staying afloat with their huge debt loads…can anyone say recession? In the stock futures markets, the fall was so severe that the automatic “circuit breakers” cut in when the losses got to 5% and that much of a drop in the Dow will translate to a 1500 point loss that will probably happen in the first few minutes of trading….I wonder what moron donnie is going to say now? The only thing he could point to was the stock market doing well and the myth that he had anything to do with it is going to be exploded this morning…I wonder who he is going to blame for this one? It is going to be an ugly day economically for anyone who has a 401K…and you can blame it on the incompetents in the WH who have systematically destroyed the US influence in the world and have left chaos in their wake….cripes…
