Well….with all of the furor and the shenanigans going on here in Michigan driven by the repubs…I have one message to the independents who elected ole Snyder to office and believed he would do what was right for all of Michigan and not just the Kochs and DeVoses….REPUBLICANS LIE! They lied in Wisconsin, they lied in Indiana, they lied in Ohio, and they continue to lie that they have the workers in mind with their right to work nonsense…remember that in the next election if you have any thought of voting for another one of the wholly-owned corporate party here. These guys do not give a damn about you but they will lie to you and use you to get elected and then stab you in the back as fast as they get to Lansing. The one thing you have to know about ole Snyder’s explanation of why he pushed these bills was that the even the repubs on “Morning Joe” eviscerated him on the nonsense that these bills will benefit workers…they went so far to laugh at ole Snyder when he tried to trot out the ALEC talking points…this is what you independents have given us…making our wonderful Michigan no different than Alabama or Mississippi and we are now the laughing stock of the country….vote these idiots out in 2014 so we can start to take our state back from the billionaires that just want more and more and more for themselves and do not give a damn about anyone else….geez…

Dark days in Michigan…
Well…it is a dark day in Michigan as the Koch brothers and the Chamber of Commerce, along with the DeVos family have bought themselves a right to work law that will go a long way to gutting organized labor…the House has just passed the bill in this lame duck session with no debate allowed by the repubs. One thing everyone has to understand is that this bill was written by ALEC…the extreme right wing organization that is behind the “stand your ground” laws that have resulted in murderers getting away with murder in the states where they have been enacted, and it is wholly funded byt the Kochs and the Chamber…the most anti-American worker organizations in this country. The bitch about this whole thing is that the Koch’s ideas and candidates were rejected at the ballot box in the last election but they still found a way to hurt the American economy by this new law…what do you think will happen when people have 1,500 dollars less in their pockets? They are going to spend less and the economy will head back into recession…just what the repubs want….so they can say it is the failed policies of Obama that did it…what a cynical, terrible group of people…geez…
The 6% solution…
Well…have been sitting here stewing about the liar Snyder here in Michigan and his betrayal of our state and the workers here….in this whole mess, a new fact popped up in the news tonight about a poll that was taken over the past few days on how much support this labor attack law has…when the question was asked if people supported this new law, only 6% of the people said they wanted something like this passed…only 6%…so how can Snyder sit there and lie through his teeth saying that most of the people want this? Just another instance where the Kochs and DeVos’s have purchased a legislature and whose voices count for more that the people who actually work here…..I am getting excited for 2014…we will take back this state and return it to the path of a labor/management cooperation where the workers share in the profits that derive from their labor and have a true voice in their lives…geez…
A few things…
Well…amid all the doom and gloom over Scott Walker keep the gov’s seat in Wisconsin…one thing was lost in the coverage…that the dems took control of the Senate there which basically shuts down the right wing, billionaire bought agenda of the Koch brothers….they did save the office for him and the Citizens United decision allowed the right to raise and spend over 60 million dollars to around 4 for the democratic challenger since the repubs rigged the fundraising laws that would make sure any challenger would not be able to compete…just like the repubs are trying to rig elections all over the country. I don’t for one minute believe that the majority on the supreme court didn’t know that this would happen…I think they knew that most of the billionaires are repubs and would advance the repub causes across the country…a frankly cynical ploy that makes all of the conservative justices unfit for office….but, as I have always said…when the repubs can’t win elections fair and square, they will always lie, cheat, and steal to get their way…they are as un-American as you can get…geez…
Some musings about Wisconsin…
Well….there have been some things happening in Wisconsin that I wanted to comment on today starting with the new polls that are out today showing that the likely challenger to ole Walker is leading in the polls…a small lead to be sure, but still in a lead in spite of the huge amount of outside money that has come into the race. Over the past couple of weeks ole Scott’s billionaire buddies, starting with the Koch brothers, have spent over 13 million dollars trying to keep this idiot in office and all it’s done is to make his approval ratings continue their downward slide. This is one thing that I find so repugnant about the big money that supports this guy and other repubs like him across the country…they will spend countless millions trying to influence the vote to install their radical right-wing agenda…but when it comes to paying their fair share of taxes to allow us to start to repair our infrastructure and educate our children, they are nowhere to be seen. So, this is one to watch over the next month, to see if we can start to take back democracy from the people who think that those who work for a living are just numbers on a balance sheet…not people that are just trying to live and raise their families in the face of this onslaught of the rich…geez….
Have to talk about the election…
Well…finally some good news for the country with the defeat of the radical right wing agenda in both Mississippi and in Ohio…in Mississippi…the people came to their senses and stopped the nonsense of “personhood” which would have set the cause of women’s rights back to the bad old 60′s….one of the right’s biggest goals…to repeal or continue to chip away at reproductive rights that women have had to fight with their lives for…in Ohio, the Koch brothers attack on organized labor and the middle class was soundly defeated by the overturning of the draconian law that the extreme right jammed through the legislature against the will of the people. It’s one of those things that the right just doesn’t get…that just because they win an election, it doesn’t mean they can only govern for their own supporters and the rich and corporations who bought them the election. With the advent of the “Occupy” movement and these election results…there may be a glimmer of hope that the 99% of us that can’t buy elections may be able to take our country back….I hope so anyway…
If you liked Scott Walker…you’ll love Herman Cain…
Well….it’s a good thing that, finally, the media is starting to catch up with the story of how connected to the Koch brothers Herman Cain is…and if you like what Scott Walker did in Wisconsin (the first governor from Kochland) you will just love what ole Herman has in store for all of us. Isn’t it enough that almost all of his campaign staff has worked for the Koch brothers or one of their front companies over the years and whose strings are still being pulled by the Koch’s? Or should we instead just look at his performance on “Meet the Press” this past Sunday? This man is an idiot, another repub who thinks that just repeating things makes them true, and who truly believes that just because something is simple (like his 999 tax plan) it has to be correct. I marveled when he said that the new 9% national sales tax couldn’t be added to the state sales taxes we already have….so now the repubs don’t believe in math? We already have enough stupidity in Washington, let’s not add to it…geez…
Too depressed to write…
Well…after the Koch brothers bought another election in Wisconsin yesterday, I’m too depressed to write much…our democracy is doomed to be the wholly owned subsidiary of the rich here and that is too depressing to take lightly….I may come back to add to this one but the double whammy of the Dow being down another 400 points today is just getting to be too much….
Idiots, idiots, idiots….
Well….the idiots on the right are still trying to place the blame on Obama for this major crash in the economy…now, let me get this straight…ole Boehner goes on tv and says he got 98% of what he wanted and then you have the right saying it’s Obama’s fault? The insane logic that the right used to justify cutting the budget in the midst of a recession is the fault here…the markets are just reacting to this insanity….what happened to the right’s slavish devotion to “the market” and their faith that it will do everything right with no regulation or shaping at any time? But, as you know, the repubs flip flop faster than than you can even see…and they have never let consistency be an impediment to trying to make political gains from any event.
One last thing…I am kind of holding my breath about the recall elections in Wisconsin today…it could be the first chink in the Koch brother’s armor….and they are still trying to buy this election; just like they did in 2010…having spent almost 30 million dollars to try to sway this election, I hope the grass roots can counteract this money…if that happens, maybe we’ll get rid of the deep pockets that have put this country on the wrong path. geez…
Let’s connect some dots…
Well…you know I’ve talked about the Citizens United case here before but with the new information that is trickling out of the blackout wall erected by the right, I feel there is enough to start to connect the dots on how our democracy has been hijacked by the unholy trinity of business, repubs, and the supreme court. Late in the day yesterday, the guest list from one of the Koch brothers soirees whose purpose was to plot strategy to regain control of congress was discovered. Guess who was on the list? Well.. Fox News, of course, and the RNC, and reps from the Citizens United group, but there were two people that were supposed to be kept secret: Justices Thomas and Scalia of the Supreme Court. Yep, that’s right, Supreme court justices at a political strategy meeting for the right-wing takeover of the Congress. Doesn’t anyone else see the conflict of interest here? Do you think it’s just coincidence that just a few months later, the Court overturned over a hundred years of settled law on the rights of corporations and the will of the people that the money of corporations could not be used influence elections?
Now, I’m not saying that the justices were bribed to make this decision, but, I do think their political leanings are affecting their judicial duty and they have become the most activist court in the history of the US. But it’s not activist for you and me, when cases come to them that deal with individual rights, they are all too willing to shred the fourth amendment and others; always deferring to their ideology instead of the law. We have become a worse nation for it…geez…
