Well….with the latest polls that came out yesterday showing that a full 70% of the US people think that our democracy is in danger of collapsing from the efforts of the repubs to subvert it, I don’t understand why they are still voting for these criminals….even almost 60% of repubs think their reps should make voting easier and more convenient and stop making it harder to vote…so why are they still doing it? Is it for just for the sake of power? I also don’t understand why the dems aren’t treating this as the existential danger that it is? We still have Sinema saying that protecting the filibuster is more important than protecting democracy and that thinking may have been right 40 years ago when we didn’t have this threat, but now is the time to run round like your hair is on fire and use every tool and tactic to pass the for the people act that would protect voting rights across the country since the repubs are putting laws in place to allow them to overturn any election results they don’t like. This is the most dangerous time our country has ever seen including the wars we have fought and Sinema needs to be made to understand that…and get rid of the filibuster…

Is there any wonder why religion is dying?
Well….yeah, that title may be a little misleading since this is really just about catholic bishops here in the US who are voting to withhold communion from Joe Biden, but the hypocrisy that this action shows is spread through all religion here in the US and across the world. These right wing bishops, who were perfectly fine with the idiot trump and the fact that he was the opposite of Joe Biden, are taking this action to highlight that Joe does support a woman’s right to choose…but it’s more than that…like almost every damn religion, they have taken a turn to be a refuge for hard right thinking and have strayed away from the teachings that underpin their religions…and let’s remember, the catholics spent decades protecting pedophile priests across the world and, to me, they have no moral authority left…and let’s remember another thing, religion in general here in the US don’t pay any taxes and to keep that tax free status, they have to stay out of politics…but this is a purely political act that is meant to damage Joe and give the repubs talking points to attack him in the next election….so , if you wonder why religion is dying here in the US, you just have to look at actions like these that should appall anyone who cares about hypocrisy…it appears to be a poison that is eating religion here from it’s core….geez…
Still the same after all these years…
Well….there were lots of racist assholes around when I was a kid and it is still the same after all these years til now….just last week, on the idiot tucker’s show, the racist in chief spewed on and on about white people getting replaced by black and brown people and he lamented that every new immigrant voter (that doesn’t exist) dilutes his political power because white people won’t get everything they want anymore and won’t be able to run everything anymore. Now, this same rant could have been done in the early 60’s and was done by repubs trying to kill the voting rights act…now, as then…it has nothing to do with non citizens voting since that never happens but it has everything to do with people like tucker thinking that only white people should even be allowed to vote….and that hasn’t changed, either, with all of the repub voter suppression laws passed across the country that are specifically to keep non-whites from being able to vote…just like they did during the Jim Crow era. I wonder why people like tucker are so scared of citizens of color voting? Could it be they know that their ideas will be destined for the ash heap of history if they can’t control voting? Things haven’t changed since I was a kid in the 60’s…and it really should have by now…geez…
Protecting voting rights here in Michigan…
Well…the cancer of repub voter suppression that has infected this country from coast to coast is one of the most important problems facing us in my lifetime at least…and while we have passed anti gerrymandering constitutional amendments, with repubs still in control of the congress here, they are still trying to rig the system by making it harder to vote…and a thought came to me on the bike today how to fix that…in Michigan, you can get referendum on the ballot if you get enough voter signatures…so, why can’t we do that for a constitutional amendment that would force any change in voting laws to be voted on by the people and not just the legislature? This would keep the repubs from being able to cheat in any election and make fair representation the norm here….if you’ve lived in Michigan, you know how the repubs are spending most of their time trying to rig the next election and to make it easier for them to overturn the fair results if they don’t like the outcome as is happening in many other states, too…so, let’s get this done and stop this election meddling in it’s tracks…geez…
The SC upholds the ACA again…
Well…yeah, running late again today with getting two rides in and going out to the beach to lie in the sun for an hour…and when I got back here, there was news that I wanted to talk about. Just this morning, it was announced the the SC has upheld the ACA for the umpteenth time in a 7-2 ruling that surprised most court watchers…and they rejected the suit from 20 repub state AG’s because they have no “standing” to even bring the suit that the trump judges in lower courts pushed up to the SC….what that means is that there was no harm to the parties filing the suits so they can’t bring the suits…and the big repub argument was that they were harmed by the elimination of the individual mandate that people had to get insurance….and since there was no longer any penalty, they couldn’t call it a tax anymore so the entire law had to be thrown out…yeah, sounds pretty convoluted to me, too, and the court felt the same to get to a 7-2 vote…even the unqualified judges whose seats that McConnell stole voted with the majority and I’ll bet that just pisses off moscow mitch. I do wonder how you get harmed by not having to pay a penalty? Without trump judges, this suit would have been thrown out the first time it was brought a couple of years back…and you can see that these idiots are not even judges…they are just partisans playing judges on tv…but it is going to take a while to get rid of them…geez…
Now it’s the FBI…
Well…if you’ve seen any of the news since the attack on the capital on January 6th, you’ve seen the right wing excuses change almost daily…first it was antifa, then it was just a “visit” like “tourists”, then it was just citizens expressing their first amendment rights…you get the picture…they will blame anyone but the terrorists who actually planned and attacked that day or the elected repubs like Josh Hawley and Paul Gosar who supported the attack and could possible even be involved with helping it. The latest right wing bullshit is that the FBI did it…all of the planning and leading the attacks so Biden could use the justice department to get rid of republican members of congress…and that is all based on the new part of the conspiracy theory that some people haven’t been charged so they must be FBI spies that was spouted on the idiot tucker’s show last night….the whole thing hinges on the idea that there were two people who rented a room in a nearby hotel and only one of them was charged…yep, that’s it, because the spouse of one of the attackers hasn’t been charged yet, that is “proof” that the FBI ran the whole show and the attackers were just victims of a conspiracy between them and the justice department….yeah, batshit insane but that is what the entire repub party is these days….any way to excuse thousands of right wing assholes attacking the country and it doesn’t matter that it is just made up bullshit….it is just as good as truth to them…better than truth, really, since they can make it be anything they want…what a bunch of crazy assed shit…geez…
Isn’t it nice?
Well…if you have been following the media coverage of Joe Biden’s first overseas trip as I have, I’m sure you’ve had this same thought…isn’t it nice to have a normal, competent president instead of an ignorant blowhard? No controversies, no pushing other world leaders out of the way so he could get to the front of the picture, no threats, and other world leaders actually wanting to meet Joe…and listening to him, and smiling…and accomplishing real progress on trade by solving the Airbus/Boeing problems that will level the playing field in the EU for Boeing. I don’t remember once where the idiot boy made anyone smile other than when they were mocking him for being a boorish fool…and not one person ever said they looked forward to working with the moron after they met him once…and really, no one could stand him and how much he lied….could you imagine Joe ever not visiting a military cemetery because it was raining? Or calling the soldiers buried there “losers” and not understanding why they sacrificed for their country? I am just relieved that we don’t have to cringe anymore when the president travels and the polls show that the world is relieved that Joe Biden is president and the friends that were pushed aside for the autocrats that trump loved are the most relieved….I am, too…
The best reason to expand the court…
Well….hey, all of you dems in the senate who oppose expanding the supreme court, listen to what moscow mitch had to say about blocking all of Biden’s supreme court picks if the repubs retake the senate…just this morning he promised that none of his picks would even get a vote…so that would mean that the court would permanently have a right wing majority built on corruption of the approval process and would slide even further into illegitimacy…and the only way to counter that is to expand the court right now and have all of the picks for the new seats be real judges who would follow the law and not legislate from the bench like the right wingers do now…so dems, do you think keeping the filibuster is more important than fixing the court? If you do, you should just resign right now and let someone into your seat that will fight for this country against moscow mitch and the rest of his traitors…geez…
So now subpoenas write themselves?
Well…another day, another group of trump toadies who can’t remember anything…and didn’t do anything…and who don’t know anything….it has been all over the news how trump used the justice department as his personal vengeance machine, investigating everyone who ever said a bad thing about him…including his own WH counsel, Don McGahn…along with Eric Swallwell and Adam Schiff. Just today, every person who was in charge of the justice department under trump said they didn’t know who authorized the subpoenas to go after the data of the dems…or who took the info to the grand jury who issued them…so now we are told to believe that the grand jury and the subpoenas just made themselves and served themselves on Apple and Google and then used that information themselves and trump’s toadies didn’t know ‘nuttin….what a load of bullshit. Every damn one of these criminals need to be hauled in front of congress, under oath, and when they lie, which they will, they need to go to jail for these and all the other times they lied to congress…which Barr did multiple times…at least there is an investigation starting into this crap and with an IG that isn’t a trump toady, we may just find out how corrupt these idiots are…and soon…
Barr and Sessions should be in jail…
Well…as the drips of information coming out about exactly how corrupt trump and his cronies were, it continues to get worse and worse…as reported by the NYT Thursday, both Bill Barr and Jeff Sessions used the justice department as trump’s vengance machine trying to get information to attack his “enemies”…but, it gets even worse…it’s not enough that Barr lied to congress about investigating people, but those people were dem members of congress like Adam Schiff who sits on the intelligence committee all the way down to his kids who Barr sent a subpoena to Apple to try to get their information…what would be the justification for that, and who the hell was the judge that approved the subpoena? This is just the start of the revelations of corruption that permeated the justice department under trump…and now the question has to be what the hell is Merrick Garland doing? Not one head has rolled for this misuse of power and many of the same investigations are still going on…why haven’t the prosecutors who lied to get these subpoenas been fired? Any and all people who supported this crap need to be rooted out and fired for violating their oath to uphold the constitution and for having no ethics…they knew this was wrong but did it anyway…and that is justification for them to be gone….geez…
