Well…have been reading this morning as I always do and came upon a little article that just focused on how stupid the states that are controlled by repubs have become…in Virginia, Texas, and other states, it is illegal to carry signs or flags on sticks into the state capital since they are “dangerous weapons” and can be used to injure people…but, in those same states, it is perfectly legal to carry handguns and rifles into these same capitals…in Virginia, while they were confiscating the signs that gun violence protesters were carrying, a group of gun rights protesters were waved through the same checkpoints carrying loaded assault rifles and pistols I guess since guns are never dangerous. In Texas, female visitors to the capitol had their tampons confiscated since they were also “dangerous weapons” while gun owners were allowed to carry their guns in strapped across their backs. What the hell is happening in this country? Have all the red states put stupid drugs in the water supply? I can’t think of any other explanation…geez…
January 24th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did have a bunch of stuff to do that I got done…so, the baby steps are working…slept okay last night but this low level infection I have is getting wearing and I am tired today….part of that could be that it has been so damn cold for so long…putting gas in the car this morning was an ordeal and I know it is wearing on the car, too…having to let it run every morning is not good for it and it looks like that will go on for another 10 days or so…will need to change the oil as soon as it warms up a little since I am seeing a drop in oil pressure…not much to do today…if it storms like they are predicting, I may have to stay home today since there are blizzard warnings up for today and into tomorrow…getting really, really tired of this winter….more later…
Are there topics?
Well…have been doing a few things around here but have, thankfully, not thought much about topics to write today..I do know that I have used this computer so much since I got it that I have worn the paint off the e, d and almost the c keys and there are times that I forget where they are and have to think about it..but, not now…just wanted to comment on the statements that ole Mike Huckabee made the other day, addressing some repub meeting or something…this idiot just can’t keep his mouth shut about women…something that the paternalistic idiots on the right all have a problem with…this nutjob came out and said that women vote democratic because government is the “sugar daddy” that provides them with free birth control…now, this is so wrong on so many levels that it is hard to chose which to comment on…I do want to say “WTF”…providing a medication that does so much for women’s health and gives them the opportunity to control their reproduction is now only to get their votes? What the hell else do we expect from these idiots on the right who think the only value women have is to be baby factories and anything that interferes with that is against the will of god? I have really, really had enough of hearing from any of these morons…geez…
January 23rd
Well…running late this morning since I had some errands to run and figured I’d get all of them done while the car was warm…and, it started kinda weird but I am going to try to not think about that today…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get a few things done so that was progress, anyway. The Wings finally won one in a shootout in a game that I couldn’t see since it was on a stupid channel I don’t get…but, I just saw that they are re-running it on NHL network this aft so that will be something to look forward to….and Michigan and State are playing hockey tonight so that will give me something to do later….and, I feel pretty good today with having 4 days in a row of being good and am going to make it 5 tonight….I did go out for a couple with G last night and it almost got out of hand…especially since the inside of the car windows froze up and didn’t really thaw until I go back here..I am getting so frickin tired of the cold and it looks like we have two more weeks in a row of it…oh, well…not much to do today…I do have some stuff to get done around here after I work out but that is about it…more later…
One more about Snyder…
Well…just wanted to add another one on ole Snyder’s state of the state address from last week and the one glaring thing that was was not in it…specifics…particularly specifics on how his policies of tax cuts for the rich, attacking unions, and hurting women have created jobs here in Michigan. And you know how the repubs like to take credit for any good news even if they had nothing to do with it…like the auto recovery that was a combination of the companies, the unions, and the federal government and had nothing to do with any repub effort…don’t you think that if Snyder had any data to back up his boasts that his policies were working that he would have led with that in the address? He can’t because it doesn’t exist…we are next to last in unemployment rate and are projected to be 49th in job growth over the next three years and our performance mirrors that of other states where the discredited repub economic policies have been tried. So, this so called tough nerd needs to be sent back to the business world where he comes from…where ceo’s can not perform and still get millions of dollars while the workers pay the price…just like the people of Michigan have paid the price for the past 3 years….geez…
January 22nd
Well…it was kind of a lost day yesterday with getting no sleep the previous night…but, that didn’t translate into the afternoon nap that I was looking forward to…my sleep patterns have become so weird that I am just going to stop thinking about them…slept okay last night, though, so I feel pretty good today…this being good stuff is really starting to pay off and I think it is going to be the habit from now on…didn’t do a lot yesterday but I did get a few things done and I hope to continue today…actually started to eat more veggies yesterday and have found a salad dressing that makes salads palatable so that will help in eating more healthy…I didn’t say healthy because I still like to eat meat…not much to do today…I am going to clean some and then try to figure out what to cook for lunch….spent 23 of my last 75 dollars on food yesterday but that should get me through the weekend….not sure if I’m going to have enough money for cocktails this weekend but that is not a bad thing…more later…

Well…just ran across another neat little tidbit in the news a few minutes ago that I just had to share…it seems the former governor of Virginia was indicted today for taking gifts and bribes while he was in office…and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy…and by that I mean a crazy-assed privileged repub who thought that the laws don’t apply to them. To make this even better, this idiot was the tea party darling who did more to egg on the legislature there to take away a woman’s right to control her own healthcare and forced doctors to perform unnecessary medical procedures on women who want abortions. Just another instance where the connected repubs think that they can do anything they want when they are in office…or in business and that the laws that the rest of us live by don’t apply to them…glad they got this prick….geez…

Well…I have been gagging since the state of the state speech that our “wonderful” governor delivered last week…full of boasting and taking credit for the few jobs that have been added since they gave away thousands of dollars from retirees to their corporate masters…and the worst is his tries to make the radical, right wing fueled policies of his tea party cronies seem like they are supported by the majority of the people of Michigan. They are not….more than 70% of the people didn’t want the additional restrictions on a woman’s right to control here own healthcare…but the radicals jammed it through the legislature and Snyder signed one of the most restrictive laws in the nation. More than 60% of the people didn’t want pensions to be taxed to pay for more giveaways to the rich and corporations that have not resulted in the adding of one job…but the legislature passed it and Snyder signed it…more than 60% of the people didn’t want a “right to work for less” law that is a direct attack on the middle class and the unions that helped make the middle class possible…so, when this liar tries to make himself and his radical, corporatist, religious cronies sound mainstream, don’t believe it…look with your own eyes and your own wallet…geez…
January 21st
Well..this damn software lost another one yesterday so this will have to be a combo of today’s and yesterdays…it was an okay day yesterday and I did have a bunch of stuff to do with helping C on getting his water flowing in his house again and generally getting dirty which was okay…slept really, really crappy and have been up since 4:30 but I still have energy so maybe it will be okay..have already gone out to do a little grocery shopping since I was out of food but spent 23 bucks that I don’t have…oh, well…I do need to eat…have been thinking about cutting it down to every other day, though, just to see how the body will fare….I used to do that all the time when I was trying to lose weight so maybe it will work again? Not much to do today…I do have a bunch of stuff to do around here today so that will be on the agenda…more later…
Not getting further behind…
Well…it has been a long day and a busy one but I can’t get farther behind so I am going to cheat a little and get a short one out…and try to redeem myself tomorrow with some really great ones….and if you believe that, I have a wonderful bridge to sell you…have been working with C all day trying to get the water going in parts of his house again and got most of it done….had to dig out the insulated boots I haven’t worn in two years to keep from freezing and it worked somewhat…stayed warm and got things done…and now I am waiting to hear from G to see if she wants to go out and have a couple…it will do me in if she does but I need to get back in the habit of going more than just hanging out here…okay, need to rest some before going out again so I need to end here…
